The Domus AVIGNON 2LT is a traditional exterior post light with two lantern heads on a 1.4 metre post, in die-cast aluminium with moulded acrylic lenses, IP43, taking two B22 lamps, in beige, black, burgundy, green or white.

Domus builds this fitting to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not picked off a shelf.

• ⭐ That is the trade-off for the five finishes. The body is powder-coated in the colour you choose after you order, which is why the range offers Beige, Black, Burgundy, Green and White rather than one stocked colour.
• ⚠ Plan the lead time into the job. If it is needed for a handover, a settlement or a booked electrician, tell us the date when you order and we will confirm the production window with Domus.
• ⚠ Order the whole set together. On a property using several of these, a second order placed later starts its own ten days — and a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match the first.

Why a twin head, and why at 1.4 m

• ✅ A twin head is an arrival marker. Two lanterns read as an entrance where one reads as a path light — which is why they belong at a gate, a driveway entry or a front step rather than along a run.
• ✅ 640 mm across gives the fitting real presence at a distance, and lights a wider area than a single head at the same height.
• ⚠ 1.4 m is a low post for a twin — the lanterns sit at roughly chest height, so this is a marker at an arrival point rather than a light for walking under. The 2.05 m and 2.4 m twins are the ones you pass beneath.
• ✅ A pair of these flanking a gate or a path entrance is the classic use, and at 1.4 m they do not block sightlines from a car.

⚠ 640 mm across — check the position

• The single-head posts are 215 mm wide; this is 640 mm. ⚠ That is the only recorded field that distinguishes a twin from a single.
• ⚠ It needs clearance on both sides — beside a driveway, allow for car doors and wing mirrors; beside a path, allow for anyone carrying something.
• ⚠ And the footing carries an off-centre load when only one side is loaded by wind. Ask us for what Domus specifies, because no footing or wind figure is recorded.

⚠ IP43, and two lenses to maintain

• Spray falling at up to 60° from vertical — not driven rain, not hosing.
• ⚠ Two moulded acrylic lenses rather than one, and acrylic can craze under years of full sun. That is two replaceable parts on a fitting at an entrance, where it is most visible.
• ✅ The die-cast aluminium body will outlast both.
• ⚠ Tell us how exposed the entrance is and we will say whether IP43 suits.

Choosing the globes

• Two LED B22 at 9–11 W, 2700–3000 K.
• ✅ Warm light at an entrance reads as welcome; cooler light reads as security, which is rarely what you want at a front gate.
• ⚠ Opal rather than clear filament. At chest height on a twin, the lamps are close to eye level for anyone arriving on foot.
• ⚠ Replace both together when one fails — a new globe beside an aged one shows.

⭐ One lantern, seven configurations

✅ The same head is made as a wall bracket, a pillar mount, a post top, a pendant, and single, twin or triple head on posts.

A twin at the gate, singles along the path, and a wall bracket at the door is one scheme in three mountings. ⚠ No page in the catalogue says the others exist. Tell us the positions and we will quote the set.

⚠ About the "Requires: Wall Bracket" line on its datasheet

Its sheet reads "Requires: Lamp GT-271 Wall Bracket". ⛔ A post light does not need a wall bracket — the line names another configuration in the same family. What this needs is a footing and two B22 lamps.
