Arzano Outdoor Wall Light Small 1Lt in Antique Brass or Black

The Arzano small is a hand-folded solid brass exterior wall light — a sheet of brass folded and fused with silver solder rather than cast or stamped. That construction is why each one carries small variations, and it is the reason to choose it over a moulded fitting.

Solid brass behaves differently outdoors

Brass is not a coating here, so there is no film to blister and nothing to wear through to. Left alone it darkens and patinas, faster near the coast; polished occasionally it stays bright. The black finish sidesteps the question if you would rather it stayed constant. Either way the metal underneath is the same.

One E27 globe, and nothing is supplied

It takes a single E27 globe up to 25 W, and no globe is included. Dimming is globe dependent — fit a dimmable lamp and a compatible dimmer and it will dim; the fitting imposes nothing of its own.

• Entries and porches, in pairs either side of a door.
• Boundary and courtyard walls under normal weather exposure.
• Garden walls and piers, where the hand-folded brass is seen close up.
• Alfresco areas, paired with the larger Arzano on the same elevation.

Specifying it

The small measures 250 mm high and 100 mm wide. It is rated IP44 — protected against splashing from any direction, so it handles ordinary weather but not direct hosing or immersion. It runs on 240 V and is Class I — an earth is required, so a licensed electrician installs it. Warranty is three years. There is a larger Arzano in the same family at 350 mm if you need more presence on a wide wall.
