The Andela is a 360 mm square LED oyster in chrome — 30 W giving 2,400 lm at 5000 K cool white, CRI above 85, and dimmable.
⚠ It is 5000 K cool white, and only 5000 K — so read this before you choose a room for it.
5000 K is daylight-cool: a clean, slightly blue-white, the colour of a workshop or a supermarket. It is fixed — there is no warm setting, and the integrated LED cannot be changed.
Our own description recommended it for bedrooms, and we would not. Where a 5000 K fitting is excellent:
Where it is wrong: bedrooms, living rooms and anywhere you relax in the evening. If you want this square shape in a warm colour, ask us — the Lyric and Lunos squares offer switchable 3000 K.
Most fittings in this catalogue record above 80. The Andela records above 85, and combined with 5000 K that is a genuinely useful combination for the rooms above: cool light that still renders colour honestly. In a robe or a workshop, that pairing is exactly what you want, and it was recorded and never said.
80 lm/W — efficient, and enough to light a laundry, robe, garage or study on its own with room to spare.
⚠ It dims, and no source records how. The datasheet, our record and the page all say dimmable; none says TRIAC, 0–10 V or otherwise. On a hard-wired 240 V fitting the usual answer is a TRIAC wall dimmer, but we are not going to assert it. Tell us your dimmer, or ask before you buy one, and we will confirm with Telbix.
Two unusual choices together. Almost every oyster in this catalogue is round, and almost every one is white.
At 2.7 kg it fixes to a standard ceiling point without special provision.
⚠ Two things to know about our data on this product.
360 by 360 mm, 2.7 kg, chrome. Integrated 30 W LED giving 2,400 lm at 5000 K cool white — fixed, included, CRI >85, and dimmable — method not recorded; confirm with us. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. ⚠ Warranty is published as ONE year; the datasheet says three. Ask us before you buy.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
No, and our own description was wrong to suggest it. The Andela is 5000 K cool white and only 5000 K — a clean, slightly blue-white, the colour of a workshop, fixed and not changeable. It is excellent in laundries, garages, workshops, walk-in robes and home offices, and wrong anywhere you relax in the evening. For this square shape in a warm colour, ask us about the Lyric and Lunos squares.
A great deal, and nobody mentioned it. Most fittings here record above 80. Cool light that still renders colour honestly is exactly what a walk-in robe or a workshop needs — you can tell navy from black, and paint or timber reads true.
Our record and page say one year; the datasheet says three. We have published the shorter term and asked Telbix to confirm, because we would rather under-promise than sell you a warranty that turns out not to exist. Ask us before you buy and we will have the answer.
No source records it — the datasheet, our record and the page all say dimmable and none says which type. On a hard-wired 240 V fitting the usual answer is a TRIAC wall dimmer, but we will not assert it. Tell us your dimmer, or ask before buying one, and we will confirm with Telbix.
No. The IP rating was missing from our record and the old table; the datasheet says IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. It should not go in a laundry that gets steam either. The Lunos squares are IP44 if you need one that can.
A square fitting aligns with the room — it follows a ceiling line, bulkhead or run of joinery, which a circle cannot. Chrome gives it a hard, technical edge rather than the soft domestic look of a white disc, which with 5000 K light is coherent: this reads as equipment, and in a laundry or workshop that is right.
Set it out square to the walls. At 360 mm any rotation shows in a way it never would on a round fitting.
