A bollard lights a path, a driveway edge or a garden boundary from around knee height, marking a route without throwing light up into anyone's eyes.
That low mounting is what makes it work outdoors after dark. Light at ankle height reveals the ground people are walking on; light at head height mostly reveals the fitting itself and destroys the night vision that lets someone see everything else.
Spacing decides whether a run reads as a lit path or a line of separate glowing objects. Even intervals with overlapping pools of light is the effect worth aiming for.
Plan the cable route before anything is fixed. It is the part of an installation that cannot be changed afterwards without undoing the rest of it, and it is the reason otherwise finished jobs get left half done.
Two checks save most of the problems that show up after an installation is finished. The first is where the fitting will actually be seen from: a light chosen for how it looks in a product photograph is being judged from a viewpoint nobody will ever stand in, and the same fitting can be discreet from the house and glaring from the street.
The second is what else is going in around it. A single fitting is rarely the whole scheme, and matching colour temperature and finish across everything in a space matters more to the result than the specification of any one item in it. Mixed colour temperatures in particular read as a fault rather than as a choice.
If you are unsure whether this suits what you are lighting, our team at Lights For You will talk it through against the actual space rather than the specification sheet.
This is part of the Havit Commercial range, which is priced on application rather than listed. Use the enquiry button on this page and we will come back with pricing for the quantity you need.
Commercial fittings are usually specified in quantity against a lighting plan, where the count, the colour temperature and the control method all have to agree across the job. We can check a schedule against what is actually available before it is issued.
⚠ Confirm availability before a specification is issued. Commercial ranges change, and a product written into a drawing that is no longer stocked is a change order later, when it is far more expensive to fix.
Yes. Connecting a fitting to mains is licensed electrical work in Australia.
