Product Description
xThe Amelia is a ø280 mm oyster drawing 18 W for 1,450 lm, with three switchable colour temperatures and CRI above 85.
This fitting is IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. An earlier version of this page said IP44. It is not: there is no water protection, so it should not go in a shower zone or under an eave.
Three colour temperatures, not one
The -3C in the order code means 3 CCT: 3000 K warm,
4000 K natural or 5000 K cool, selected on the fitting at installation. Our product record
listed only 5000 K, which was wrong — you get all three and you choose.
CRI above 85 is the number to notice
Most oysters sit at CRI 80. >85 is a visible step up: skin tones, timber and fabric look closer to how they look in daylight. On a ø280 mm ceiling fitting that is an unusually good specification.
Surge protection is built in
1.5 kVA surge protection is included — worth having in areas prone to storms or brownouts, and not something most oysters at this size offer.
It needs an earth
Class I — hard-wired, earth required, installed by a licensed electrician. It is not a plug-in fitting.

- Hallways, entries and walk-in robes.
- Bedrooms, at the 3000 K setting.
- Laundries and pantries — dry areas only.
- Small rooms where 1,450 lm is enough on its own.

Supplied and supported by Lights For You. If you need an oyster for a bathroom or an eave, ask us for an IP44 or IP54 model — this one is not rated for it.
Questions
Can it go in a bathroom or under an eave?
No. It is IP20 with no water protection. An earlier version of this page said IP44, which was wrong. Ask us for an IP44 or IP54 oyster instead.
Is it really only 5000 K?
No. The -3C code means three switchable colour temperatures — 3000 K, 4000 K and 5000 K — chosen at installation. Our record listed only one, which was an error.
How bright is it?
1,450 lm from 18 W, across ø280 mm — enough on its own in a hallway, entry or small bedroom.
Is the colour rendering good?
CRI is above 85, a visible step up from the CRI 80 most oysters offer.
Can I install it myself?
No. It is Class I, hard-wired and requires an earth — a licensed electrician's job.
Is it dimmable?
No.
What is the warranty?
Three years.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
