The Domus 60 mm aluminium post is the column for 60 mm-fitting exterior lights — 1 m, 1.5 m, 2 m or 2.5 m, powder coated in beige, black, silver, green or white.

⚠ This is the 60 mm post. There is also a 76 mm post, and they are not interchangeable.

  • 60 mm (this one) — suits fittings specified for a 60 mm outside diameter, including the POLYSPHERE post-top spheres.
  • 76 mm — suits the BL-series bollard heads (BL-100, BL-200, BL-300, BL-400).

Check what your fitting calls for before you order. A 60 mm post will not carry a 76 mm bollard head, and nothing in either listing's name distinguishes them.

Four lengths, and what each one is for
  • 1 metre — waist height. The source sits below eye level and the pool is wide enough to be useful. Paths, beds and driveway edges.
  • 1.5 metres — a wider pool and a longer throw; it reads more like a lamp post than a marker. Good on a wide driveway or a long approach.
  • 2 metres — a genuine post light. It lights the space rather than the ground.
  • ✅ 2.5 metres — a length the 76 mm post does not offer. At this height a post-top sphere reads as a street or courtyard lantern, and covers a correspondingly larger area.

⚠ Wind load and footing matter more with every extra half-metre. At 2 and 2.5 m, talk to your electrician about the base before anything is set. ⚠ Buy one length for a run — mixed heights along a path read as a mistake.

The finish, and the reality of aluminium outdoors

  • Black disappears into planting at night — the safest choice.
  • Beige and white stay visible by day, which suits a formal approach.
  • Green vanishes into a hedge.
  • Silver reads contemporary but shows marks.

⚠ On a coastal site, ask us. Powder-coated aluminium will not rust the way steel does, but the coating is what protects it, and salt attacks coating edges and fixings first. Keep the cut end sealed and wash it down.

⚠ What we cannot tell you. No datasheet exists for this product. We have the Ø60 mm outside diameter and the four lengths, and we do not have the wall thickness, the weight, the base fixing detail or the cable-entry arrangement — and on a structural component carrying a lantern at 2.5 metres, wall thickness is not a trivial figure.

Ask us before you pour a footing or order a base and we will get them from Domus. The BB-100 base suits 60–76 mm posts, so it fits this one. No warranty is recorded either.

Which length should I choose?

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.
