This is the larger single Akril: a Ø50 mm acrylic head on a poly powder-coated aluminium body, running straight off 240 V. The bigger head is not just a cosmetic step up — it carries a 5 W LED against the Ø40 mm model's 3 W, and produces close to twice the light, which is what you want when the wall is tall, dark, or a long way from the fitting.
It gives 315–370 lm over a 260° spread. At that level it stops being purely decorative: a pair either side of a front door will genuinely light the threshold, and a run along a driveway wall gives usable ground light as well as the graze up the face. On a low garden wall it will be more than most people want, and the Ø40 mm model is the better proportion there.
Switch-selected at installation between 3000K, 4000K and 5500K. 5500K is the brightest at 370 lm, 4000K gives 365 lm and 3000K gives 315 lm. The gap between the two cooler settings is negligible and the step down to warm white costs about 15%, so the real choice is between 3000K for a warmer look at the front of a house and 4000K for output with a neutral cast. SDCM <5 keeps a run consistent, provided every fitting is set the same way.
The fitting throws in one direction only, so the mounting decides whether it grazes upward or washes downward — there is no adjustment afterwards. Downward is the usual choice beside a door, where the light lands on the threshold and nobody looks into the head; upward suits a textured or rendered wall you want to show off. Decide before the base plate is fixed, because rotating it later means re-drilling.
Because it is the mains version, there is no driver to place and no low-voltage cable run to size. It is Protection Class 1, so an earth is required at the fitting — the extra-low-voltage Akril is Class 3 and needs none, and the two versions cannot be mixed on one circuit. Worth confirming which is already in place before extending an existing installation.
Rated IP65 against dust and water jets, IK04 for impact, CRI >80, UGR <35, lamp expectancy >30,000 hrs. Havit specifies it as not dimmable, so switch it rather than wiring it to a dimmer. Overall size is 183 × 80 × 80 mm and it is offered in black or white at one price, with a 3 years replacement warranty. Lights For You keeps both head sizes and both supply versions of the Akril, which makes it straightforward to match an existing run rather than guess at it.
Roughly 70% — 315–370 lm against 185–215 lm, from a 5 W LED rather than 3 W. The head is also visibly larger at Ø50 mm, so it suits a taller or wider wall.
No. This is the 240 V version and wires straight in. The extra-low-voltage Akril in the same range does need one.
Yes. Havit specifies Protection Class 1 for this model, so an earth connection is required at the fitting.
5500K, at 370 lm. 4000K is almost identical at 365 lm, and 3000K gives 315 lm — so warm white is the only setting that costs you meaningful output.
A pair either side of a front door will light the threshold properly at 315–370 lm each. As a single fitting on a wide entry it is an accent rather than the main light.
No — Havit specifies this model as non-dimmable. It should be switched.
It is IP65, so dust and water jets from any direction are within the rating and an unsheltered wall is fine. Aluminium fittings are generally not recommended within a few kilometres of salt water, so ask us first if the property is beachfront.
