Akril Wall Light

This is the mains-powered Akril: a compact poly powder-coated aluminium wall light with a Ø40 mm acrylic head, throwing a single beam up or down depending on which way you mount it. It wires straight to 240 V with no driver to find a home for, which is what makes it the easy choice on a rendered façade, a fence line, a set of external stairs or an entry wall where there is already a point in the wall.

How much light, and which setting is brightest

A 3 W built-in LED gives 185–215 lm through a 260° spread — a wide arc that grazes a wall in a soft band rather than dropping a hard circle on it. Read that as an architectural accent: several at 2.5–3 m spacings will read as a designed rhythm, where one on its own mostly lights the ground under itself.

Colour temperature

Tri-colour, switch-selected at installation: 3000K, 4000K or 5500K. On this model 5500K is the brightest at 215 lm, with 4000K at 210 lm and 3000K at 185 lm — so unlike most tri-colour fittings, here the coolest setting genuinely is the strongest, and the warm setting costs about 14% of the output. Set every fitting in a run identically before they go up; SDCM <5 keeps the fittings consistent with each other, but nothing rescues a wall where one has been left on a different setting.

The wiring difference worth knowing

Havit builds the Akril in two supply versions, and they are not interchangeable. This one is Protection Class 1, so an earth connection is required at the fitting — the extra-low-voltage version of the same range is Class 3 and needs none. If you are extending an existing Akril run, check which version is already installed before ordering, because the two cannot share a circuit.

Rating and limits

It is IP65, rated against dust and water jets from any direction, so an unsheltered wall is within the rating — immersion and burial are not. Impact rating is IK04, glare UGR <35, colour rendering CRI >80 and lamp expectancy >30,000 hrs. Plan around one thing: Havit specifies it as not dimmable, so it should be switched rather than wired to a dimmer. Overall size is 183 × 80 × 64 mm, and it comes in black or white at the same price with a 3 years replacement warranty. Coastal siting — Havit’s condition

Havit’s installation instructions for this fitting state that aluminium fittings should not be installed within 5 km of any salt water environment. That is a condition on where the fitting may go, and it sits beside the IP rating rather than inside it: a fitting can be rated for direct rain and still fall outside this rule, because the issue is salt carried in the air rather than water landing on the surface.
