This is the two-headed Akril: the same 65 × 42 mm section in poly powder-coated aluminium, stretched to 281 mm long, with an acrylic lens at each end throwing light up and down from a single mounting point. It is the fitting people reach for on pillars, entry walls and façades, where the symmetrical wash above and below the body is the whole effect.

Output, and how the figures are quoted

Each head carries a 3 W LED, so the fitting draws 2 × 3 W and Havit quotes its output per head: 2 × 105 lm, 2 × 115 lm or 2 × 110 lm depending on the colour setting. Read that as roughly 210–230 lm leaving the fitting in total, split evenly between the upward and downward beams. Havit publishes a 260° beam angle for this model, which is what produces the tall, soft column of light on a wall rather than two tight spots.

It runs at 12 V, so a driver is part of the job

The Akril is a 12 V DC fitting. It requires a 12 V DC LED driver rated for the combined load of every fitting on the circuit — six of these is 36 W before any headroom — and Havit stocks a range of drivers for the purpose. Do not connect it directly to 240 V; doing so destroys the LED and voids the warranty. In exchange, the fitting is Protection Class 3, so no earth is needed at the light, and the run itself is far safer to bury or clip along a fence than a house-voltage cable.

Colour temperature

The tri-colour switch is set at installation to 3000K, 4000K or 5500K. 4000K is the brightest setting, at 2 × 115 lm, with 5500K at 2 × 110 lm and 3000K at 2 × 105 lm. Set every fitting on a façade to the same value before they go up — SDCM <5 holds the fittings consistent with each other, but nothing rescues a run where one has been left on a different setting.

Rating and limits

It is rated IP65 against dust and water jets, IK04 for impact, with CRI >80, UGR <35 and a lamp expectancy of >30,000 hrs. Havit specifies it as not dimmable, so it should be switched rather than put on a dimmer. Both black and white are the same price, and it carries a 3 years replacement warranty. Lights For You also lists the single-direction Akril in the same body for places where light is only wanted one way, and the two mix well along a single elevation.

Questions
How much light does it actually give?

Havit quotes it per head: 2 × 105 lm at 3000K, 2 × 115 lm at 4000K and 2 × 110 lm at 5500K. In total that is roughly 210–230 lm from the fitting, split between the upward and downward beams.

Can I run it without a driver?

No. It is a 12 V DC fitting and a 12 V DC LED driver is required. Size the driver above the combined load of everything on the run — each fitting is 6 W in total — and leave headroom rather than running it at capacity.

What does the 260° beam angle mean in practice?

It is a very wide spread rather than a narrow spot, so each head washes a tall band up or down the wall instead of putting a hard circle on it. That is what gives the Akril its soft, continuous look on a façade.

Does it need an earth?

No. It is Protection Class 3, the class for separated extra-low-voltage equipment, so no earth connection is required at the fitting.

Can it be dimmed?

No — Havit specifies this model as non-dimmable. It should be switched. Putting a dimmer on the low-voltage side of the driver will not control it correctly.

Is it suitable for a coastal property?

It is IP65 and poly powder-coated aluminium, which handles weather, but aluminium fittings are generally not recommended within a few kilometres of salt water. If the property is beachfront, ask us about a marine-grade alternative before ordering.

Is it the same body as the single-light version?

Same 65 × 42 mm section and the same lens, but longer — 281 mm against 170 mm — because it carries a head at each end. Mixing the two along one wall works well if you keep the finish and the colour setting identical.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
