The Macro is a 9 W recessed LED downlight for a 90 mm cut-out, with the LED built in. It is a workhorse fitting rather than a decorative one, and two things set it apart from the cheapest downlights: it is dimmable and it is IP44.
Five year warranty — with conditions. This fitting carries a five-year replacement warranty, longer than almost anything else in the Telbix range. It is conditional on proof of purchase AND an electrical installation certificate. Keep both. Downlights are the fittings most often installed without paperwork, and without it the five years is not claimable.
An IP44 rating covers splashing from any direction, which is what lets a downlight be used in a bathroom ceiling or under an eave. Your electrician will confirm the zone, but this is the rating that opens those positions up — a standard IP20 downlight cannot go there at all.
It is trailing-edge dimmable, so pair it with a trailing-edge (not leading-edge) LED dimmer. Getting that wrong is the usual cause of flicker and buzz on a dimmed LED circuit — worth telling your electrician which type you have.
3000 K, 4000 K or 5000 K is selected at installation on a switch, so one product covers a whole house. 3000 K in living areas and bedrooms, 4000 K in kitchens and bathrooms, 5000 K in garages and workshops.
90 mm cut-out, fitting ø105 mm and 70 mm deep — check that depth against your ceiling void. 9 W giving 800 lm on a 60° beam, 240 V, in matt black or white polycarbonate. Rated IP44 and dimmable.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You. Order a spare with a large run — matching a downlight years later is harder than buying one extra now.
