A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
LED strip is a flexible circuit board carrying a line of LEDs, supplied on a reel and cut to the length a job needs. It goes where a fitting cannot: under a cabinet, into a cove, along a stair nosing or behind a mirror.
It is also the form most often installed badly, and the difference is almost entirely in what goes around it - the supply, the channel and the diffuser.
Colour rendering is >90 CRI, which describes how faithfully colours appear under the light. It matters most where the lighting falls on food, skin, timber or fabric.
The beam spread is 120°.
⚠ At IP20 this has no moisture protection. It is for dry interior positions only - inside joinery, a cove, or a ceiling recess.
Bathrooms, kitchens near a sink, and any outdoor position need a weatherproof rating instead. An IP20 strip in a damp position fails at the circuit board, and it fails patchily rather than all at once.
This strip runs at 24V DC, so it needs an LED driver between it and the mains. It cannot be connected to mains directly.
Size the driver from the run rather than the reel: work out the total load of the length you are installing and choose a driver comfortably above it.
⚠ The driver's output voltage has to match the strip. Connecting 24V strip to the wrong supply either leaves it dark or destroys it, and that is not a warranty claim.
Strip is cut to length at the marked cutting points only. Cutting between them severs the circuit and kills everything past the cut, so plan the run to the nearest marked point rather than to the exact millimetre.
Run it in an aluminium profile where you can - the aluminium draws heat away and the diffuser turns the line of separate LEDs into a continuous one.
Test the run before committing it. Adhesive backing does not survive being lifted and re-laid, and a fault found after the diffuser is on means taking the run apart.
This is part of the Havit Commercial range, which is priced on application rather than listed. Use the enquiry button on this page and we will come back with pricing for the quantity you need.
Commercial strip is usually specified by the metre against a drawing rather than bought off a shelf, so the quantity, the driver sizing and the run layout are worth settling together. Send us the run lengths and we will work back to what the job actually needs.
⚠ Confirm availability before a specification is issued. Commercial ranges change, and a product written into a drawing that is no longer stocked is a change order later, when it is far more expensive to fix.
No. The strip is supplied on its own and needs a 24V DC driver sized to your run.
Yes, but only at the marked cutting points. Cutting between them kills the section past the cut.
No. At IP20 it has no moisture protection and is for dry interior positions only.
For the mains connection to the driver, yes. That is licensed electrical work in Australia.
