The Duro in aluminium is the white-finish version of the same very small recessed downlight — ø60 mm, 31 mm deep, 3 W built in. Same fitting, lighter finish.

Aluminium disappears into a white ceiling

The black Duro reads as a deliberate dark mark; this one recedes. In a white bulkhead or soffit where you want the light and not the fitting, that is the version to choose.

31 mm deep is the whole argument

Standard downlights need 60–70 mm of void. At 31 mm the Duro fits a bulkhead, a shallow soffit, a stair riser or cabinetry where nothing else will. If you have normal ceiling depth, a larger downlight will give you far more light for the same effort.

Two colour temperatures, fixed at order

DURO 3R-WH83 is 3000 K at 240 lm; 3R-WH85 is 5000 K at 260 lm. Not switchable — the cool version is marginally brighter, as cool LEDs usually are.

  • White bulkheads and soffits, where the fitting should disappear.
  • Shallow voids that will not take a standard downlight.

Specifying it

ø60 mm, 31 mm deep, in aluminium. Built-in 3 W LED, 240 lm at 3000 K or 260 lm at 5000 K, beam 40°, CRI >80. Not dimmable. 240 V, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is two years, shorter than the three years most of the range carries.

Supplied and supported by Lights For You. ⚠ IP20 means indoor only — for an eave or bathroom, use an IP44 downlight such as the Elon or Macro.

Questions
How deep does the ceiling need to be?

Only 31 mm — about half what a standard downlight needs.

Which colour temperature should I choose?

3000 K at 240 lm for living areas, 5000 K at 260 lm for task and utility. It is fixed by order code, not switchable.

Can it go in a bathroom or eave?

No. It is IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Use an IP44 downlight such as the Elon or Macro.

Is it dimmable?

No.

Should I use this instead of a normal downlight?

Only if your void is too shallow for one. With normal ceiling depth a larger downlight gives far more light.

How is it different from the black Duro?

Finish only. Aluminium recedes into a white ceiling; black reads as a deliberate mark.

What is the warranty?

Two years — shorter than most of the Telbix catalogue.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Credits will be issued in the form of store credit or gift voucher and will be equal to the price paid for the product minus the cost of shipping. Store credit vouchers are valid for six months from the date of issuance.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.

Your Options

  • Restocking fee: 20% will apply unless otherwise stated, or unless another order of equal or greater value is placed in lieu of this re-stocking fee.
  • Credit: will be issued in the form of store credit and will be equal to the price paid.
