HYVIK FLOOR LAMP

The Hyvik is a 1,610 mm two-light floor lamp in matte iron — art deco lines, two small shades — in white, nickel, brass or black.

Two small shades, not one big one

That is the art deco move. Rather than a single drum, the Hyvik carries two ø145 mm shades at 210 mm tall on a 240 mm canopy. Two smaller sources spread the light more evenly through a corner than one large one, and visually they break up the height — a 1.6-metre lamp with a single big shade always looks top-heavy.

Art deco without the fuss

The reference is period, the execution is not: plain matte iron, no ornament, just the proportions and the twin-shade arrangement doing the work. That is why it sits in a contemporary room as comfortably as a traditional one.

Four finishes, two warm and two cool

Brass is the deco choice and the warmest. Nickel is the cool counterpart, softer than chrome. Black reads graphic, white nearly disappears against a pale wall. All matte, so nothing glares.

Two E27 globes to 25 W each — 50 W total

Not supplied. Buy both from one batch — two shades side by side make a colour mismatch obvious. Dimming is globe dependent: fit dimmable globes and use a plug-in or inline dimmer.

Stable at 3.82 kg

Reasonable weight for a 1.6-metre lamp, so it stands properly — but on a 240 mm canopy it is a lamp for a corner or beside a chair, not a busy walkway.
