Product Description
xThe Vida is a 390 mm table lamp — an iron base under a pleated fabric shade — in antique gold with cream, or nickel with ivory.
Pleated, not plain, and it changes the light
A pleated shade is not a decorative flourish. The folds mean the fabric varies in thickness all the way round, so light passes through unevenly — brighter at the valleys, softer at the peaks. Lit, the shade develops a subtle vertical rhythm that a flat drum simply does not have. It is the reason pleated shades keep coming back.
The two versions are not interchangeable
- Antique gold with a cream shade — warm on warm. Vintage, softer, the traditional choice.
- Nickel with an ivory shade — cooler metal, cleaner white. The contemporary one.
The shade colour changes with the metal, which the old copy never said — and it called the second one chrome. It is nickel: softer, warmer and less mirror-like.
Light, so put it where it will not be knocked
0.85 kg. Easy to move and easy to place, but genuinely light for a table lamp — if it is going somewhere busy, a doorway console or a child’s room, that is worth knowing. For a bedside or a shelf it is exactly right.
Compact
390 mm high, 200 mm wide, cable 1,800 mm. Small enough for a narrow bedside table where most lamps crowd the space.
Plug in and use it
Class II, double insulated, no earth required, lead and plug fitted. No electrician.
One E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied
Behind pleated fabric a plain warm globe is all you need. Dimming is globe dependent — fit a dimmable globe and use a plug-in or inline dimmer.

Questions
Is the second finish chrome or nickel?
Nickel — softer, warmer and less mirror-like than chrome. An earlier version of this page called it chrome.

Which globe should I fit?
A plain warm E27 up to 25 W. Behind pleated fabric a decorative filament would not be seen.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
