The Nella 7 W surface mounted downlight is Havit's answer to a ceiling you cannot cut into. There is no cutout and no plasterboard surgery: the fitting sits on a shallow mounting base and fixes flat to the surface, which makes it the practical choice for concrete slabs, rendered ceilings, timber linings and any space where a recessed can simply will not fit.
Inside is a 7 W built-in LED behind a deep baffle — Havit's own installation sheet calls the range "Nella Baffled", and the reason shows up in the numbers. This fitting is rated UGR <10, which puts the light source well back from the aperture and keeps direct glare out of your eyeline. Colour rendering is CRI >90 with SDCM <3 binning, so skin tones, timber and paint colours read accurately and one fitting matches the next along a run.
Rather than committing to a colour at order time, each unit covers all five settings, and output changes with the setting: 2700K gives 499 lm, 3000K 512 lm, 4000K 558 lm, 5000K 593 lm and 5700K 601 lm. Warmer settings are the dimmer ones here, so if you are lighting a kitchen bench or a laundry the cooler end of the range buys you roughly a hundred extra lumens per fitting. The beam is a controlled 60°.
This is the 240 V AC model. It wires straight to mains with no driver in the circuit, and it is Protection Class I, so an earth connection is required — a licensed electrician's job. Wiring across multiple fittings is parallel. Dimming is Triac, and Havit lists the HV9625 Triac Dimmer as the compatible control.
At IP54 the fitting is protected against dust and against splashing water from any direction, which covers eaves, alfresco ceilings and most bathroom ceilings — though it is not rated for immersion or pressure jets, so confirm the zone with your electrician. The aluminium body carries an IK08 impact rating and a lamp expectancy of under 30,000 hours.
A run of trim inserts in gold, black and chrome lets you change the look without changing the light, and a 3 m pendant accessory converts the same fitting into a suspended one. Havit is explicit about the trade-off there: fitted with the pendant accessory, the downlight becomes IP20 and is then indoor-dry-areas only.
Every Nella is covered by Havit's 3 year replacement warranty. Lights For You stocks the range in both black and white with the trim inserts and pendant kits alongside, so a lighting plan can be matched across a whole ceiling from one place.
No. This is a surface mounted downlight — it fixes to a shallow mounting base against the ceiling, so there is no cutout and no need to get above the ceiling line. That is what makes it workable on concrete, rendered and timber-lined ceilings where a recessed downlight is not an option.
Not this model. It is the 240 V AC version and wires directly to mains. It is Protection Class I, which means an earth connection is required, so installation is work for a licensed electrician.
Every fitting covers all five settings — 2700K, 3000K, 4000K, 5000K and 5700K — and the colour is selected on the fitting at installation rather than at the time you order. That means you can standardise one product code across a job and still tune each room.
Between 499 lm and 601 lm depending on the colour setting you select, with the cooler settings producing the higher figures. Combined with CRI >90 and a UGR of under 10, it is a fitting designed around light quality and glare control rather than raw output.
Yes — the 240 V model is Triac dimmable. Havit lists the HV9625 Triac Dimmer as the matching control. As with any dimmed LED, pair the fitting with a dimmer rated for LED loads and check the minimum load for the number of fittings on the circuit.
IP54 means it is dust protected and shielded against splashing water from any direction, which suits eaves, alfresco ceilings and most bathroom ceilings. It is not rated for immersion or high-pressure water, so have your electrician confirm the fitting against the zone it is going into.
Gold, black and chrome trim inserts (HV5841-GR, HV5841-BR and HV5841-CR), an optional gold ring, and a 3 m pendant accessory in black or white. Note that once the pendant accessory is fitted the assembly drops to IP20, so a suspended Nella is for indoor dry areas only.
