At 18 W the Nella stops being a general-purpose downlight and becomes a light you specify when you need real output from a surface mounted body. Ø113 mm across and 140 mm deep in powder coated black or white aluminium, it delivers between 1,371 and 1,617 lm depending on the colour setting — roughly triple the 7 W model in the same family.
Because it is surface mounted there is no cutout and no cavity depth to worry about. It fixes to a mounting base directly against the ceiling, which is what makes the Nella range usable on concrete slabs, rendered ceilings and timber linings where recessed fittings are ruled out.
Five colour settings are built into every fitting, selected during installation: 2700K gives 1,371 lm, 3000K 1,410 lm, 4000K 1,518 lm, 5000K 1,600 lm and 5700K 1,617 lm, all through a 60° beam. The deep baffled aperture that names the range keeps the source recessed and out of direct view.
One point worth being precise about, because it differs from its siblings: this model's data sheet specifies CRI >80, where the 7 W, 12 W and 24 W Nella bodies are rated CRI >90. If exact colour rendering is the priority — a retail display, an art wall, a kitchen where materials matter — that difference is worth knowing before you specify the 18 W across a whole space.
This is the 240 V AC model. It wires directly to mains with no driver in the circuit and is Protection Class I, which requires an earth connection; fittings are wired in parallel across a run. Dimming is Triac, with Havit's HV9625 Triac Dimmer listed as the compatible control.
The fitting is rated IP54 — dust protected and sealed against splashing water from any direction — which covers eaves, alfresco ceilings and bathroom ceilings, but not immersion or high-pressure water. The aluminium body is IK08 impact rated with a lamp expectancy under 30,000 hours, and gold, black and chrome trim inserts are available to change the aperture finish. A 3 m pendant accessory suspends the fitting, at which point it becomes IP20 and is restricted to indoor dry areas.
The fitting is covered by Havit's 3 year replacement warranty. Lights For You carries the full Nella ladder from 7 W to 24 W, which makes it straightforward to run the larger bodies over a living area and the smaller ones down a hallway without changing the look of the ceiling.
That is what Havit's own data sheet for the 18 W specifies, and we have published it rather than assuming the range shares one figure. If colour accuracy is critical to the space, the 12 W or 24 W bodies are rated CRI >90 and are worth comparing before you commit.
Between 1,371 lm and 1,617 lm through a 60° beam, depending on which of the five colour settings is chosen — the cooler settings give the higher figures. It is roughly three times the output of the 7 W Nella.
No. It is surface mounted and fixes to a mounting base against the ceiling, so there is no hole to cut and no clearance needed above the ceiling line.
No. This is the 240 V AC model and connects straight to mains. It is Protection Class I so an earth connection is required, making it a licensed electrician's installation.
Yes — Triac dimming on the 240 V model. Havit lists the HV9625 Triac Dimmer as the matching control. Use an LED-rated dimmer and check the minimum load for the number of fittings on the circuit.
The body is 140 mm deep and Ø113 mm across. It is a substantial cylinder rather than a flush fitting, so allow for the projection in rooms with lower ceilings.
IP54 covers dust and splashing water from any direction, suiting bathroom ceilings, eaves and alfresco ceilings. It is not rated for immersion or pressure washing, so confirm the intended zone with your electrician.
