This is the extended-body version of the tri-colour Nella 7 W surface mounted downlight. The light engine is the same as the standard model — 7 W, three colour settings, the same output — but the housing runs deeper, so the fitting presents as a defined cylinder below the ceiling rather than a shallow disc.
That is a proportion decision, and on a high ceiling it is usually the right one. A short body on a tall ceiling tends to disappear into the plane above it; the extended barrel reads as a deliberate element and brings the light source further down into the room. Both black and white finishes are covered by this listing.
Three colour settings are built in and chosen at installation, and the brightest of them sits in the middle rather than at the top: 525 lm at 3000K, 560 lm at 4000K and 540 lm at 5500K. Choose 4000K if you want the most light out of the fitting. Colour rendering is CRI >80. The beam is a wide 120° through an aluminium body with a glass diffuser, which spreads light broadly and evenly rather than dropping distinct pools — the characteristic that separates this tri-colour Nella family from the narrow-beam five-colour bodies.
The practical consequence is that fewer fittings cover a given area evenly, which makes this a good choice for hallways, landings and bedrooms where uniformity matters more than accent.
Havit lists the construction as aluminium with a glass diffuser, and that is the material difference between the tri-colour Nella bodies and the five-colour range, which uses plastic. Glass does not yellow with sustained heat and can be wiped clean without scratching, which tells over years in a bathroom or kitchen. In exchange there is no published impact rating on this body where the plastic-diffused models carry IK08, so it is the wrong choice for a garage or workshop ceiling.
No cutout is needed. The fitting attaches to a mounting base against the ceiling surface, making it viable on concrete, render and timber-lined ceilings and in renovations where the ceiling cavity is not accessible. Allow for the depth of the extended housing when checking clearance in circulation areas.
It runs on 240 V AC wired straight to mains with no driver in the circuit, wired in parallel across multiple fittings, and it is Triac dimmable. The IP54 rating covers dust and splashing water from any direction — suitable for bathroom ceilings and under-cover outdoor areas, but not for immersion or high-pressure water.
Havit's current warranty on this fitting is 3 years replacement; older printed documentation showing a shorter term has been superseded. Lights For You lists the standard and extended bodies together so the choice can be made on proportion alone, knowing the light itself is unchanged.
Only the depth of the housing. The extended body projects further below the ceiling; the LED, the wattage, the three colour settings, the lumen figures, the 120° beam and the IP rating are all identical to the standard model.
Proportion. On a high ceiling a shallow fitting can read as a flat disc, while the extended barrel presents as a deliberate cylinder and brings the light source further into the room. It is a visual choice rather than a performance one.
525 lm at 3000K, 560 lm at 4000K and 540 lm at 5500K. Note that the middle setting is the brightest — 5500K produces slightly less light than 4000K on this fitting, not more.
No. It is surface mounted and fixes to a mounting base against the ceiling, so there is no hole to cut and no access needed above the ceiling line.
No. It wires directly to 240 V AC mains, with fittings wired in parallel across a run. Installation is work for a licensed electrician.
Yes — it is Triac dimmable. Use a dimmer rated for LED loads and check the dimmer's minimum load against the number of fittings sharing the circuit.
Three years replacement. Some older printed documentation for this model shows a shorter term, which has been superseded by Havit's current 3 year entitlement.
