Product Description
xThe Snap is a small round recessed stair and step light — a ø80 mm face with a built-in 3 W LED. It sits flush in the wall beside a staircase and washes the tread below.
This is an INDOOR step light. It is rated IP20, which offers no water protection at all. Despite step lights often being outdoor fittings, this one belongs on an internal staircase, a hallway skirting or a home cinema aisle. For external steps you need an IP65-rated fitting — ask us and we will point you at one.
4000 K is the right choice on stairs
It is fixed at 4000 K neutral white with CRI above 80. On a staircase that matters more than atmosphere: neutral white gives clear definition between tread and riser, so the edge of each step is legible. A very warm light flattens that distinction, which is exactly what you do not want underfoot.
Small, shallow and unobtrusive
The face is ø80 mm with a 45 mm depth behind it, so it fits a standard stud wall without special provision. At 240 lm it lights the step rather than the room — which is the point. A row of them down a staircase is navigational light, not general light.
Where it works
- Internal staircases, set one per two or three treads at consistent height.
- Hallways, low in the wall as night-time guidance.
- Home cinemas and media rooms, marking aisles without lifting room light levels.
- Bedrooms, as low-level guidance to an ensuite.
Specifying it
ø80 mm face, 45 mm depth, aluminium, in black or white. Built-in 3 W LED giving 240 lm at 4000 K, CRI >80. It runs on 240 V, is not dimmable, and is IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You. Set them all at the same height above the tread — inconsistent heights down a staircase are very visible at night.

Can I use it outdoors?
No. It is IP20 with no water protection. For external steps you need an IP65-rated fitting — ask us and we will point you at one.
How deep does the wall need to be?
45 mm behind an ø80 mm face, so it fits a standard stud wall.
How bright is it?
240 lm from a 3 W LED — enough to light the step, not the room. That is deliberate.
Why 4000 K rather than warm white?
Neutral white gives clear definition between tread and riser, so the step edge is legible. A very warm light flattens that.
Is it dimmable?
No.
How many do I need on a staircase?
Typically one every two or three treads, all set at the same height above the tread.
What is the warranty?

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Credits will be issued in the form of store credit or gift voucher and will be equal to the price paid for the product minus the cost of shipping. Store credit vouchers are valid for six months from the date of issuance.
Our Rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
