Prime Coloured Fixed WIFI Downlight 70mm Cutout

This is the smallest Prime downlight with a full-colour RGBCW engine and Wi-Fi, on a Ø70 mm cut-out, and it is the only listing carrying all six finishes of the model — antique brass, brass, copper and nickel alongside black and white. Each is a complete 12 W luminaire supplied with its driver, flex and plug.

The smallest hole in the range

Ø70 mm is the tightest cut-out Havit offers on the Prime, behind a face of Ø88 mm and a body 70 mm deep. It suits a ceiling already drilled at 70 mm and a look that keeps the aperture discreet. The rest of the range steps up to Ø76 mm and Ø90 mm on different bodies, and none of them is interchangeable with this one — the part number, not the range name, is what has to match the ceiling.

The number to read before anything else

Havit's ordering row measures 300 lm at 3000K and 320 lm at 5500K on the white channel. The switched HV5511T on the identical body at the identical 12 W measures 839 to 913 lm. Choosing colour therefore costs roughly two thirds of the white light, which nothing in the wattage or the price suggests, and on a 70 mm aperture in a large room that is the difference between a lighting layout and an accent layout. The individual colours are lower again — red 15 lm, green 32 lm and blue 25 lm — because one colour uses one of three emitters. Colour on this fitting is atmosphere; the white channel does the lighting.

What the colour engine gives you

Red, green and blue mix with a white channel, all controlled from the TUYA app on a phone or tablet, so a single fitting covers ordinary white light and a set scene without a second circuit or a separate colour fixture. The diffuser is frosted perspex, which blends the three emitters into one colour rather than showing them separately, and which is why the beam opens to 120° — a wash rather than an accent. Dimming happens in the app, not at the wall: there is no Triac driver here, so it must not be wired to a dimmer plate and should not share a dimmed circuit with the switched HV5511T.

Insulation and the IC-4 condition

It is IC-4 rated, and Havit sets three conditions with it: only the LED fitting may sit under insulation, the driver must never be covered and must be mounted above any insulation covering the fixture so it can ventilate, and the fixture must not be used with loose-fill insulation such as macerated paper or wool.

Body, rating and warranty

The body is aluminium — the brass, copper and nickel names describe the finish on it — running on 240 V AC, Protection Class 2 so no earth is required at the fitting, and IP54 at the front of the fitting only, which makes it an indoor recessed downlight rather than a wet-area or exterior one. CRI >90, SDCM <4, UGR <22, IK06, lamp expectancy >50,000 hrs. Havit's warranty line for these part numbers reads "3 Years replacement warranty (items ordered after 01/01/22)". One thing Lights For You will not tidy up: Havit's ordering row names the cool white point 5500K while its page copy for the same part numbers calls it 6500K, and nothing in its material reconciles the two, so both are reported.
