The Domus BF-2608A is a 360 mm raw ceramic wall uplight taking two G9 lamps and throwing light upwards only. Supplied unpainted.

  • 60 W is the maximum per lamp, so 120 W across the two. The BF sheets say 60 W whether a fitting takes one lamp or two, so it is not a fitting total; the BF-2185 (one G9) says 40 W; and the BF-2020 states “2x60W” in its own title.
  • ⚠ Rated for it does not mean fit it. 120 W of halogen in a closed ceramic body is a lot of heat. Two 4 W LED G9s come to 8 W and give roughly what two 40 W halogens did.

Questions
What is the difference between the 2608A and the 2608B?

Direction, and nothing else that matters. Both take two G9s and both are the same raw ceramic body. This A emits upwards only; the B emits both up and down. Up-only gives a clean ceiling wash with a quiet wall beneath it. Two-way makes the wall itself the lit surface, which reads better when the fittings are repeated down a hallway. Neither listing mentions the other, so it is worth choosing deliberately.

How tall is it?

Our record does not hold a height, and we would rather say so than publish a guess — on a wall light the height is what decides clearance under a picture rail, a door head or a cornice. We do have the width, 360mm, and the projection, 80mm, which is modest for a fitting this wide. Ask us and we will measure a physical one.

Is 60 watts per lamp or across both?

Per lamp — 60W each, 120W the pair. We settled it across all 30 BF listings: the sheets say 60W whether a fitting takes one lamp or two, so it cannot be a fitting total; the one-lamp BF-2185 says 40W; and the BF-2020 states "2x60W" in its own title. It is rated for 120W of halogen and we would not fit it — two 4W LED G9s do the job at 8W.

Do both lamps have to match?

Yes. Two G9s of different colour temperature across 360mm of ceramic throw a visibly split wash up the wall, warm at one end and cooler at the other. Buy them together, same brand and same temperature, and keep a spare from the same batch.

Do I have to paint it?

No — the raw ceramic is a deliberate look. It is porous until painted or sealed, so it marks more easily than a finished surface. If it sits where hands reach, finish it.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. Raw ceramic is porous until painted and the fitting is rated for indoor dry use only. For a bathroom, ask us for something with an IP rating suited to the zone.

Why is the warranty only one year?

That is the term Domus gives its imported ceramic range, not an error on this listing — most of this catalogue is three years. A ceramic shell with replaceable lamps has little in it to fail; chipping is the real risk.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
