Outdoor LED pendant light in solid brass — IP65

An exterior-rated pendant in solid brass, 215mm tall and Ø54mm, on a 1500mm adjustable suspension. It is sold in antique brass, black and brass finishes, and in both 240V mains and 12V low-voltage versions — six part numbers on this page.

Outdoor pendants are a small category for a reason: most pendants are not built to hang outside. This one is rated IP65 against dust and jetted water and IK08 for impact, which is what allows it under a verandah, in a covered walkway, over an outdoor dining table or in an entry portico where weather reaches it.

Solid brass, and what that means over time

The body is solid brass rather than coated aluminium. That matters outdoors: a powder coated finish eventually lifts at an edge and corrodes underneath, where brass simply ages. Left alone it darkens and develops a patina; the antique brass finish anticipates that, while the brass finish starts bright and moves toward it.

If an unchanging appearance is the requirement, the black finish is the one to choose. If the fitting is meant to settle into a garden or a weathered timber verandah, the brass finishes are the point.

Six part numbers — check the supply before ordering

Three finishes are each offered in a 240V mains version and a 12V low-voltage version, and they are not interchangeable. The 240V versions are Class 1 and require an earth connection. The 12V versions are Class 3, need no earth at the fitting, and do require a 12V DC driver on the circuit that is not supplied.

The 12V versions make sense where an existing low-voltage garden system is being extended; the 240V versions where the pendant is a standalone fitting on a mains point. Getting this wrong is the most common ordering error on a listing structured like this one.

Light source and output

The fitting takes a replaceable globe — GU10 on the mains versions and MR16 on the low-voltage versions — rated at 5W, producing 270lm, 285lm and 300lm across its three colour settings. Colour rendering is above 80 CRI and the beam is 120°.

Because the globe is replaceable rather than a sealed module, the light source can be changed over the fitting's life without disturbing the brass body, which on an exterior fitting is the part worth keeping. Rated lamp expectancy is >30,000 hrs. Havit lists the fitting as not dimmable.
