The Marsten 8 light is a starburst pendant — eight straight rods radiating from a central hub, each ending in its own opal glass sphere. At 850 mm across it is a large fitting, and that diameter is the first thing to check against your room.

850 mm is wider than most people picture

This is nearly a metre of ceiling. Over a round dining table it wants a table of at least 1.2 m so the spheres sit inside the table footprint rather than over the chairs. In an entry void it reads well from below and from a landing. In a standard 2.4 m-ceiling room it will feel low unless the drop is kept short — which the rod set lets you do.

Drop is set by rods, not a cable

It ships with one 300 mm rod and two 600 mm rods, so the hanging height is a combination of fixed lengths rather than something you trim on site. Work out the drop before the electrician arrives; changing it afterwards means going back into the ceiling.

Eight E27 globes, and the globe is on show

Each arm takes an E27 globe up to 25 W — 200 W across the fitting — and none are supplied. The opal matt spheres diffuse the lamp, so a plain globe is fine; a fancy round globe suits the geometry. Buy all eight identical and add a spare. Dimming depends on the globes you fit.

Specifying it

Fixture diameter is 850 mm in iron and glass, in antique gold or black with opal matt spheres. Eight E27 holders, 25 W each, 200 W total. It runs on 240 V, is IP20 and indoor only, and is Class I — an earth is required. Assembly is required and it must be installed by a licensed electrician. Warranty is three years.

Supplied and supported by Lights For You. With eight arms to align, allow proper time on site — a starburst that is fractionally out of true is obvious from across the room.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.

  • Restocking fee: 20% will apply unless otherwise stated, or unless another order of equal or greater value is placed in lieu of this re-stocking fee.
