Marsten 5Lt Pendant Light

The Marsten 5 light is the smaller starburst in its family — five rods, five opal glass spheres, 650 mm across. It is the version that fits a normal room, where the 850 mm eight-light would crowd it.

650 mm suits a real dining room

Over a round table of about 1 m, or a square one of similar size, the five-light sits correctly — large enough to be the feature, small enough not to loom. If your table is 1.2 m or more, step up to the eight light; the two are the same design, so choosing between them is purely about scale.

A shallow fitting on a rod set

The body is only 185 mm tall, hung on rods totalling up to 1,500 mm — supplied as two 600 mm and one 300 mm. Because the fitting itself is shallow, most of your height decision is in which rods you use. Settle it before installation; rods are not trimmed on site.

Five E27 globes, none supplied

Each arm takes an E27 globe up to 25 W — 125 W across the fitting, and none are included. The opal matt spheres diffuse the lamp, so a plain globe works; buy five identical and a spare. Dimming is globe dependent.

• Round or square dining tables around 1 m, centred over the table.
• Kitchen nooks and breakfast bars needing one decorative fitting.
• Bedrooms, where 650 mm reads as a feature without dominating.
• Entry halls with standard ceilings, using the shorter rod combination.

Specifying it

Fixture diameter 650 mm, height 185 mm, in iron and glass, antique gold or black with opal matt spheres. Five E27 holders at 25 W, 125 W total. It runs on 240 V, is IP20 and indoor only, and is Class I — an earth is required. Assembly is required. Warranty is three years.
