Product Description
xThe Marsten 12 is the largest starburst in its family — twelve rods, twelve opal glass spheres. Where the 5 light suits a normal dining room and the 8 light a generous one, this is a fitting for a void, a stairwell or a room with real ceiling height.
Twelve E27 globes is 300 W of capacity
Each arm takes an E27 globe up to 25 W, so the fitting will carry 300 W in total — and no globes are supplied. That is a great deal of light. In practice you would fit modest LED lamps rather than filling it to capacity, and put it on a dimmer. Buy all twelve identical, plus spares.
A shallow body on a rod set
The body is only 185 mm high and hangs on rods totalling up to 1,500 mm. Because the fitting is shallow, nearly all of the height decision is which rods you use — settle it before installation, as rods are not trimmed on site.
Where it works
- Double-height voids and stairwells, seen from more than one level.
- Large dining rooms and long tables, with the drop set low enough to read as a feature.
- Reception and function spaces needing one substantial decorative fitting.
- Rooms where the 8 light Marsten was considered and judged too small.
Specifying it
Iron and glass, antique gold or black with opal matt spheres. Twelve E27 holders, 300 W total capacity, globes not supplied. Body height 185 mm, rod suspension to 1,500 mm. It runs on 240 V, is IP20 and indoor only, and is Class I — an earth is required. Dimming is globe dependent. Warranty is three years.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You. Twelve arms take time to align on site — a starburst slightly out of true is obvious from across a room, so allow for it.
Questions
How many globes does it take?
Twelve E27 globes of up to 25 W each — 300 W of capacity in total. None are supplied.
Do I have to fit 25 W globes?
No, and you probably should not. Twelve 25 W lamps is a great deal of light — fit modest LED globes and use a dimmer.
How does it compare to the 5 and 8 light Marstens?
Same design, larger again. The 5 light is ø650 mm and the 8 light ø850 mm; the 12 light is for voids and rooms with real height.
Can I set the hanging height?
Within limits — rods totalling up to 1,500 mm, decided before installation.
Is it dimmable?
Globe dependent. With twelve lamps, a dimmer is strongly worth fitting.
Does it need assembly?
Yes, and installation by a licensed electrician as it requires an earth. Allow time to align twelve arms.
What is the warranty?
Three years.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Credits will be issued in the form of store credit or gift voucher and will be equal to the price paid for the product minus the cost of shipping. Store credit vouchers are valid for six months from the date of issuance.
Our Rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
