What the 200 mm gives you, and how to think about the rest
- 200 mm — 1,350 lm at 3000 K, 1,400 lm at 4000 K, 1,450 lm at 5700 K, from 15 W. ✅ That is genuinely bright for a 200 mm fitting — enough for a hallway, a WC, a walk-in robe or a small bathroom.
- 300 mm — a bedroom or a bathroom.
- 400 mm — a living area or a large bedroom.

Why an oyster rather than downlights
- ✅ Surface mounted — no hole in the ceiling. Concrete, rated ceilings, shallow voids and rentals.

How bright are the 300 and 400 mm versions?
We are not publishing figures for them. The datasheet we hold figures from covers the 200 mm: 1,350 lumens at 3000 K, 1,400 at 4000 K and 1,450 at 5700 K from 15 W. Do not assume the larger sizes scale by area — ask us and we will get the real numbers from Domus.
Which size for which room?
200 mm for a hallway, WC, walk-in robe or small bathroom — at around 1,400 lumens it is genuinely bright for its size. 300 mm for a bedroom or bathroom. 400 mm for a living area or a large bedroom. Tell us the room dimensions and we will confirm rather than leave it to guesswork.
Is it suitable for a coastal house?
Yes, and Domus recommends the range specifically for coastal dwellings. The body is polycarbonate rather than painted aluminium, so there is no metal to corrode in salt air — which is where most fittings near the coast fail first.
Can it go in a bathroom?
Yes, outside the shower zone. IP54 covers splashing water from any direction, which suits a bathroom or laundry ceiling subject to your electrician and the zones in AS/NZS 3000. It is not IP65, so not directly above a shower or in an exposed position.

Do I need to cut the ceiling?
No. It is surface mounted, so it fixes to the face of the ceiling — which is what makes it usable on concrete, on rated ceilings that must stay intact, in shallow voids, and in rentals where nothing is being cut.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.
