Bliss Dimmable LED Oyster Light

The Bliss is a large dimmable LED oyster made in three diameters — 600 mm, 770 mm and 970 mm. Oysters are usually the plainest fitting in a house; this one is unusual because of how it is controlled.

Dimming and colour by RF remote

It is dimmed by radio-frequency remote control, not by a wall dimmer — and the colour temperature is switchable too, across 3000 K, 4000 K and 5000 K. That means no dimmer module in the wall and no electrician needed to change how it behaves. RF rather than infrared also means you do not have to point the remote at it.

The trade-off is the remote itself: it is the only control. Keep it somewhere sensible, and note that a standard wall switch will only turn the fitting on and off at whatever setting it was left on.

Three sizes, and they are all large

Even the smallest is ø600 mm. This is a fitting for a main bedroom, a living room or a large hallway — not a small ensuite. The 970 mm will dominate anything under a generous room, so size it against the ceiling area rather than the room's purpose.

• Rooms where a dimmable ceiling light is wanted without wiring in a dimmer.
• Rentals, where the RF remote avoids any switch work.

Specifying it

The 600 mm version is 50 W, 117 mm deep, in metal and polycarbonate. 3 CCT — 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, beam 140°, CRI above 84. It runs on 240 V, is IP20 — indoor and dry locations only, and is Class I — an earth is required. Warranty is three years.
