The Tivah Mini is the small-format member of the Tivah family — ø40 mm and 83 mm high, in black aluminium with clear glass — and it is a low-voltage fitting, not a mains one. That is the first thing to know: HV1127MR11NW runs on 12 V DC and requires a 12 V DC LED driver. It must never be connected directly to 240 V power. In exchange for that extra component you get a very small, very tough fitting: IP65 for direct rain, IK10 for impact, and a tight 60° beam pointing down.

The choice to make

There is one part number, so the decisions are the driver and the colour temperature. The fitting is dual-colour selectable, and the outputs pair as 270 lm at 3000K and 300 lm at 4000K from 3 W. 3000K reads warm and residential at an entry or alfresco wall; 4000K gives a slightly whiter, crisper light on paving and steps. The 60° beam is narrow by design — this is a fitting for a defined pool of light, not area coverage.

Where it works

• Entry pillars and letterbox walls where a full-size fitting would look heavy.
• Step and stair walls, throwing a tight pool onto each tread run.

Specifying it

The fitting requires a 12 V DC LED driver and must be installed no more than 25 m from it. That distance is a warranty limit, not a guideline — past 25 m the voltage drop over the cable run starves the LED, dims the output and shortens its life. Do not connect the fitting directly to 240 V power. It is Class 3 low voltage, so no earth is required. The LED is built in: no globe is needed and none can be fitted. The diffuser is clear glass, impact rating IK10 and rated life under 30,000 hours. The fitting is dimmable, which on a 12 V circuit depends on the driver being a dimmable type.
