The Tenac is a black cylinder with an opal polycarbonate diffuser — ø100 mm by 195 mm — and the opal is the point. Instead of a visible globe behind clear glass, you get an even glow with no hot spot, which is what you want at eye level beside a door. Behind that diffuser is a replaceable E27 socket, so this is a fitting you re-lamp rather than replace, and you can change the colour temperature later just by changing the globe. Polycarbonate also takes a knock better than glass, which is why the impact rating here is higher than on the clear-glass cylinders in the range.
At IP54 the Tenac is rated for splashing rather than driving rain, so it needs a covered position — under an eave, in a porch or entry recess, under an alfresco roof, or in a carport. On a fully exposed wall water eventually finds the globe cavity. If the wall is open to the sky, specify an IP65 fitting instead.
HV3693T-BLK runs on 240 V AC — straight to mains, no driver, earthed as a Class I fitting. The E27 globe is replaceable and the fitting takes an E27 globe up to 9 W. That ceiling is a safety limit: a higher-wattage globe inside an enclosed opal diffuser traps heat, is a fire risk, and voids the warranty. No other base will fit — a B22 bayonet cannot be adapted into an E27 socket. The supplied family output is 700 lm at 3000K, 740 lm at 4000K and 720 lm at 5500K across a 180° spread, with your actual figure set by the globe fitted. Aluminium body, opal polycarbonate diffuser, IP54, IK06. A 3-year replacement warranty applies.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You; the Tenac's opal diffuser is what makes it comfortable at eye level, so fit a globe within the 9 W limit and the glow stays even rather than showing a hot spot.
No. HV3693T-BLK is 240 V AC and wires straight to mains. It requires an earth.
9 W. The fitting takes an E27 globe up to 9 W. A larger globe traps heat behind the opal diffuser, is a fire risk, and voids the warranty.
E27 screw-in, and it is replaceable. No other base will fit or can be adapted.
No. Globes are purchased separately, so you choose the colour temperature within the 9 W limit.
It spreads the light evenly and hides the globe, so there is no bright hot spot at eye level. Polycarbonate also resists impact better than glass — this fitting is IK06.
No. IP54 is splash protection, so it needs a covered position under an eave, porch, alfresco roof or carport.
A 3-year replacement warranty on the fitting.
