Maro Up & Down LED Wall Light

The Maro is a slim up-and-down exterior wall light — 168 mm long, 46 mm wide and only 80 mm off the wall — that throws a narrow blade of light in both directions from an aluminium body with a glass diffuser. Its job is architectural: repeated along a facade or a fence line it creates a rhythm of paired scallops rather than pools of general light. This listing is one where the part number decides the wiring, and getting it wrong is expensive: two of the four codes are 240 V and two are 12 V.

The choice to make

HV3696T-BLK-240V and HV3696T-WHT-240V are 240 V AC and wire straight to mains — no driver required. HV3696T-BLK-12V and HV3696T-WHT-12V are 12 V DC and require a 12 V DC LED driver; they must never be connected directly to 240 V power. Beyond voltage, choose black or white to match the wall. Output is identical across all four: 2 × 145 lm at 3000K, 2 × 148 lm at 4000K and 2 × 147 lm at 5500K, selected on the fitting, from 1 W emitters.

Specifying it

The 240 V variants are Class 1 and require an earth; the 12 V variants are Class 3 low voltage and do not. The LED is built in on every variant — no globe is needed and none can be fitted. The diffuser is glass, the impact rating IK08 and rated life under 30,000 hours. The IP54 rating is the constraint to design around: it covers splashing water, so the Maro belongs in a sheltered position under an eave or a soffit rather than on a wall that takes driving rain. It is not dimmable. Because the 12 V variants sit on a driver, keep the whole low-voltage circuit properly sized — and never take the shortcut of feeding a 12 V fitting from mains.
