The Lokk is a recessed wall light with an eyelid shroud, which is a specific and useful shape: the eyelid hoods the light source so the fitting throws light down onto a step or a path while hiding the emitter from anyone looking straight at the wall. Because it recesses into the wall rather than sitting on it, there is nothing protruding to catch a shoulder in a narrow passage. It is 12 V: the Lokk requires a 12 V DC LED driver and must never be connected directly to 240 V power. It is rated IP65 for direct rain and IK10 for impact.

The choice to make

Five finishes, all sharing the same body and optics: HV2899NW-AB in antique brass, HV2899NW-BLK in black, HV2899NW-BR in brass, HV2899NW-CP in copper and HV2899NW-SS316 in 316 stainless steel. The brass and copper finishes patina outdoors and suit heritage and landscaped settings; 316 stainless is the coastal specification; black recedes into a dark wall. The light is dual-colour, pairing 270 lm at 3000K with 300 lm at 4000K from 3 W on a 60° beam.

Where it works

• Recessed into a rendered stair wall, throwing a shielded pool onto each tread.
• Narrow side paths and passages where a surface fitting would be in the way.
• Landscaped retaining walls, hooded so the light hits the path and not the eye.
• Coastal walls in the 316 stainless finish, where salt air is the governing factor.

Specifying it

The Lokk requires a 12 V DC LED driver and must be installed no more than 25 m from it. That distance is a warranty limit — past it, voltage drop over the cable run reduces output and shortens LED life. Do not connect the fitting directly to 240 V. It is Class 3 low voltage, so no earth is required. The LED is built in: no globe is needed and none can be fitted. Because the fitting is wall-recessed, the cavity has to be prepared during construction or the wall opened up afterwards, so plan positions before the render or cladding goes on. The diffuser is clear glass and rated life exceeds 30,000 hours. The fitting is dimmable, which on a low-voltage circuit requires a dimmable driver.
