The Essil is a slim rectangular up/down wall light in poly powder coated aluminium behind tempered glass, with 2 × 5 W of built-in LED. It is the quiet option in this type: no adjustment, no visible lamp, no ornament — a clean block on the wall throwing an even wash up and down. That restraint is why it suits contemporary elevations where the fitting is meant to disappear and only the light should be noticed.

The choice to make

Two decisions, both made at the checkout. The first is finish — black or white, same price. The second matters more: this listing sells a 240 V version and a 12 V version of the same fitting, and they are not interchangeable once installed. HV3648T-BLK-240V and HV3648T-WHT-240V wire straight to mains. HV3648T-BLK-12V and HV3648T-WHT-12V are low-voltage fittings requiring a separate 12 V DC LED driver, which is not included.

Colour temperature is tri-colour, set on the fitting at install, giving 2 × 300 lm at 3000K, 2 × 310 lm at 4000K and 2 × 325 lm at 5500K. Those are per direction — each aperture produces that output.

Specifying it

At IP54 the Essil is protected against splashing rather than weather, so it belongs under an eave, soffit or balcony rather than on an exposed facade. The LED is built in — no globe to buy, none to replace — and the fitting is not dimmable, so a dimmer should not be on the circuit.

If you choose a 12 V version, the driver requirement comes with real limits: the fitting must be run from a suitable 12 V DC LED driver and never connected directly to 240 V, the supply must stay within 5% of nominal, and Havit voids the warranty outside that allowance. Where several Essil share one driver, size it for the total load and wire the fittings in parallel. A 3-year replacement warranty applies. Questions
What is the difference between the 240 V and 12 V versions?

Only the supply. The 240 V version wires straight to mains. The 12 V version is low voltage and needs a separate 12 V DC LED driver, which is not included. Choose before ordering — they are not interchangeable afterwards.

Can it be wired without a driver?

The 240 V version, yes. The 12 V version, no — it must be run from a 12 V DC LED driver and must never be connected directly to mains.

Is the lumen figure per direction?

Yes. It gives 2 × 300 lm at 3000K, 2 × 310 lm at 4000K and 2 × 325 lm at 5500K, per aperture.

Can it go on an exposed wall?

No. It is IP54, which covers splashing only, so it needs an eave, soffit or balcony over it.

Is it dimmable?

No. Both datasheets state it is not.

What globe does it take?

None. The 2 × 5 W LED is built in, so there is nothing to buy with it and nothing to replace.

What are the limits on the 12 V version?

It must run from a suitable 12 V DC LED driver with the supply held within 5% of nominal. Outside that allowance the warranty is void. Wire multiple fittings in parallel and size the driver for the total load.

What warranty applies?

A 3-year replacement warranty.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
