This is the 240 V GU10 Taper — the same shallow wedge body, wired straight to mains and taking a standard GU10 globe. It is the version to specify when there is no low-voltage run available and you would rather not add a driver to the job.

Mains voltage, replaceable globe

No driver, no transformer, no separate low-voltage circuit: it wires like any 240 V fitting. The GU10 globe is replaceable, so the lamp is a consumable and the fitting is not — and because GU10 lamps are sold everywhere, a failed globe is a five-minute fix rather than a replacement fitting.

  • Retrofit onto an existing 240 V wall point where running low voltage would mean new cabling.
  • Path, step and boundary walls, where the shallow wedge stays out of the way.
  • Coastal walls in the 316 stainless finish; copper where you want a patina.
  • Courtyard and alfresco walls — IP44 covers rain and splashing.
Specifying it

The globe is a GU10 at 5 W, giving 270 lm at 3000 K, 285 lm at 4000 K and 300 lm at 5500 K. Do not exceed 35 W in the 240 V GU10 socket — a thermal limit on the fitting. Frosted tempered glass, IP44, CRI above 80, not dimmable with the globe supplied. Four finishes: black, white, 316 stainless steel and copper.

Supplied and supported by Lights For You. If you are running a mix of this GU10 version and the 12 V MR16 Taper on one property, label the circuits clearly — the bodies are identical and the two are not interchangeable.

Questions
Does it need a driver?

No. This version runs on 240 V AC and takes a mains-voltage GU10 globe.

Is the globe replaceable?

Yes. It takes a standard GU10, so the lamp can be changed without touching the fitting.

What is the maximum globe wattage?

35 W in the 240 V GU10 socket. This is a thermal limit on the fitting.

How bright is it?

270 lm at 3000 K, 285 lm at 4000 K and 300 lm at 5500 K from the supplied 5 W lamp.

Can it be dimmed?

Not with the globe supplied. Fitting a dimmable GU10 and a compatible dimmer can achieve it.

Can I use this version on a 12 V circuit?

No. This is the 240 V GU10 version. The 12 V version takes an MR16 globe and requires a driver.

What is the warranty?

Three years, as a replacement warranty.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.

  • Restocking fee: 20% will apply unless otherwise stated, or unless another order of equal or greater value is placed in lieu of this re-stocking fee.
