HV3285T-SS316-12V - Kaval 316 Stainless Steel Surface Mounted LED Wall Light

The Kaval in 316 stainless steel is the version to specify when the wall is close to the sea. 316 is the marine grade — the molybdenum in the alloy is what resists chloride pitting, and that is the whole reason it costs what it does over a powder-coated body. This is a compact surface-mounted wall light that throws light onto the surface it is fixed to rather than out at the viewer, so it reads as a glow on a wall rather than a lit fitting. The decision that catches people out is not the finish: it is that this is a low-voltage fitting requiring a driver.

The 12 V decision

HV3285T-SS316-12V is 12 V DC only. It needs a 12 V DC LED driver sized to carry every fitting on the run, and it must never be connected directly to 240 V. The maximum run from driver to fitting is 25 m; installing further away puts the supply outside specification and voids the warranty. Being Class III, no earth is required at the fitting, which keeps garden wiring simple where several fittings share one driver.

Specifying it

The 1.5 W COB LED is built in, so there is no globe to buy or replace and no socket that could corrode. Tri-colour switching gives three outputs: 100 lm at 3000K, 110 lm at 4000K and 105 lm at 5500K — pick 3000K for a warm entry, 4000K where you want crisper definition on a rendered surface. The clear glass diffuser sits behind an IP65 body rated to IP67 on the datasheet's own testing, so direct rain and wash-down are within scope, and IK08 covers accidental impact at wall height. Triac dimmable when paired with a dimmable driver. Carries a 3-year replacement warranty.
