HV3285T-BR-12V - Kaval Solid Brass Surface Mounted LED Wall Light

The Kaval in solid brass is a small surface-mounted wall light for the positions where you want light on a surface rather than a fitting on show — a rendered entry wall, the face of a pillar, a step riser beside a path. Solid brass is the reason to choose this version over the painted and stainless finishes: left unlacquered it weathers to a soft brown patina outdoors, so the buying decision is whether you want a finish that changes with the seasons or one that stays as delivered. The real specifying decision, though, is electrical: this is a low-voltage fitting and it needs a driver.

The 12 V decision

HV3285T-BR-12V runs on 12 V DC only. It requires a separate 12 V DC LED driver sized for the total load of every fitting on the run, and it must never be connected directly to 240 V — doing so destroys the fitting immediately and is not a warranty claim. Keep each fitting within 25 m of its driver; beyond that distance the voltage drop pushes the fitting outside its rated supply and the warranty no longer applies. In return you get a Class III low-voltage circuit that needs no earth, which is why this family suits garden and pathway runs fed from one central driver.

Specifying it

The LED is built in as a 1.5 W COB module — there is no globe to buy and no socket to fit, so nothing needs replacing over the life of the fitting. Tri-colour switching gives 3000K, 4000K and 5500K: 100 lm at 3000K, 110 lm at 4000K and 105 lm at 5500K. IP65 means it handles direct rain and hosing, and the IK08 rating covers the knocks a wall light at knee height actually takes.
