Tivah Antique Brass TRI Colour Double

Antique brass is the finish people reach for when the fitting has to look as though it has been on the wall longer than it has. This is the double-adjustable Tivah in that finish: solid brass with an antiqued surface, on a matching backing plate, carrying two heads that each tilt through 90° and swivel through 270°.

Why solid brass rather than a brass-look coating

A brass-coloured powder coat on aluminium is a film, and outdoors a film eventually chips or chalks — and when it does, the silver underneath shows. Solid brass has no coating to lose. The antiqued surface is a darkened patina on the metal itself, so wear reads as age rather than as damage, and the fitting stays serviceable on exposed and near-coastal elevations where a coated body would need replacing. It still wants a wash-down on a salt-air site; Havit excludes tea staining from the warranty on any of its metal-bodied fittings.

The three part numbers

• HV1395T — 240 V GU10 with 9-in-1 switchable globes: 2 × 240–560 lm at 3000K, 2 × 255–595 lm at 4000K and 2 × 270–630 lm at 5500K as the globe is stepped through 3 W, 5 W and 7 W. 60° beam. This is the only one of the three that is Triac dimmable.
• HV1397GU10T — 240 V GU10 at a fixed 5 W per head: 2 × 270 lm, 2 × 285 lm, 2 × 300 lm, in a 120° beam.
• HV1397MR16T — the same figures on 12 V DC MR16, requiring a driver.

Every one of those lumen numbers is per head. Havit prints them with the 2 × and so do we, because a two-head fitting quoted at its summed output is not comparable with a single-head fitting quoted honestly.

Installation limits worth knowing before you order

The GU10 versions are Class 1 and need an earth; the MR16 version is Class 3 low voltage and does not, but it does need a 12 V DC LED driver sized for two lamps per fitting, sited within 25 m, with the supply held within 5% of nominal. Globes are replaceable at 35 W maximum on a 240 V GU10 and 20 W on a 12 V MR16, per lamp. IP65 covers an exposed pillar with no eave. Colour temperature is selected on the globe during installation rather than at purchase, so one part number covers warm, neutral and cool. All three versions carry a 3-year replacement warranty.
