Maxi Tivah Aluminium Black TRI Colour

The Maxi Tivah is the large-format version of Havit's adjustable wall pillar light, and the jump in size buys a real jump in output: 12 W of built-in LED producing up to 1,200 lm from a single head, against roughly 300 lm from the standard Tivah. It is the fitting to reach for when a wall light actually has to light something — a driveway turning circle, a tall entry, a wide flight of external stairs — rather than mark a position.

The choice to make

There is one part number, HV1228T in poly powder coated black, so ordering is simple. The decision that matters is aim. The head carries 90° of tilt and 270° of swivel on a matching backing plate, and behind the lamp is a high-output reflector with a 60° beam — a genuinely narrow beam by wall-light standards. Point it at what you want lit rather than expecting it to fill a space, and set it before the installer leaves.

Colour temperature is selected on the fitting at install and the output climbs with it: 1,080 lm at 3000K, 1,140 lm at 4000K and 1,200 lm at 5500K. At this brightness the choice is more consequential than usual — 3000K keeps a large entry hospitable, while 5500K at 1,200 lm through a 60° beam reads as security lighting.

• Exposed walls and pillars — at IP65 it needs no eave over it.

Specifying it

The Maxi Tivah runs on 240 V AC and wires straight to mains, so there is no driver, transformer or low-voltage run to plan. The LED is built in: no globe is supplied because none is needed, there is nothing to relamp, and at end of life the fitting is replaced. It is not dimmable, which both datasheets state plainly, so leave a dimmer off the circuit.

The body is aluminium, 136 mm tall and ø75 mm across, and it is IP65 — rated for direct weather exposure rather than sheltered positions only. On a coastal site, note that this is the aluminium body rather than the stainless or solid brass member of the Tivah family; if the fitting will take salt air directly, one of those is the better specification. It carries a 3-year replacement warranty.
