Tivah Solid Copper TRI Colour Fixed Down

Solid copper is the most weather-honest finish in the Tivah range: it starts bright, turns through bronze and settles into a green-brown patina, and it does that faster the closer it sits to salt air. This is the fixed-down version, so the beam is set at manufacture and points down — the right choice for a pillar top or a wall where you want light on the paving and nothing thrown into a neighbour's window. It is IP65 for direct rain, IK10 for impact, and fitted with clear glass over the lamp. Choosing between the three part numbers is a wiring decision, not a cosmetic one.

The choice to make

HV1115T and HV1117GU10T are 240 V GU10 fittings and wire straight to mains with no driver. HV1117MR16T is 12 V DC on an MR16 lamp and requires a 12 V DC LED driver — it must never be connected directly to 240 V power. HV1115T produces 200–560 lm at 3000K, 255–595 lm at 4000K and 270–630 lm at 5500K depending on whether a 3, 5 or 7 W GU10 is fitted; HV1117GU10T and HV1117MR16T both give 270 lm at 3000K, 285 lm at 4000K and 300 lm at 5500K from 5 W lamps. Beam options are 60° and 120°.

• Driveway entry pillars where the copper is expected to patina into the brickwork over time.
• Coastal and beachside walls, where copper weathers rather than corrodes cosmetically.
• Stone and rendered garden walls, throwing a downward pool onto paths and steps.
• Alfresco and pool walls that take direct rain and wash-down.

Specifying it

The lamp is replaceable and the base must match the part number: GU10 lamps for GU10 codes, MR16 for the MR16 code — they are not interchangeable. Maximum globe wattage is 35 W for a GU10 and 20 W for an MR16; these are thermal limits inside a sealed IP65 housing. The GU10 variants are Class 1 and require an earth. Rated life is under 30,000 hours and the fitting is not dimmable with the supplied globes. Impact rating is IK10, the highest in common use, which makes it a sensible choice at a driveway pillar where mirrors and bins make contact.
