The Bayside Large is a traditional lantern-style wall light — 350 mm tall, 160 mm deep, glass sided — built around a replaceable E27 globe rather than a sealed LED. That is its real advantage over a modern integrated fitting: in a decade you re-lamp it for the price of a globe, and you can change the colour temperature or brightness whenever you like by changing what you screw in. It comes in black, 316 stainless steel and white, and the finish choice is genuinely about location, with stainless the answer near salt water.

The globe decision

The E27 socket takes a standard screw-in globe, and the globe is replaceable — no other base will fit, so a B22 bayonet or E14 candle globe cannot be adapted into it. The globe is not included with the fitting. Before buying one, check the maximum wattage printed on the fitting's own label: exceeding it is a fire risk inside an enclosed lantern and voids the warranty. Because the lantern is enclosed and glass sided, choose a globe that physically fits the cavity as well as the socket — an oversized globe traps heat against the glass.

Specifying it

HV3659W-L-BLK, HV3659W-L-SS316 and HV3659W-L-WHT all run on 240 V AC — wired straight to mains, no driver required, earthed as Class I fittings. The supplied family output is 400 lm at 2700K across a 180° spread, though your actual output depends on the globe you fit. IP54 means splashing protection rather than driving rain, so position it under an eave or a porch roof rather than on a fully exposed wall. Rated life is over 30,000 hours and the fitting is dimmable, subject to the globe you use being dimmable too. Covered by a 3-year replacement warranty.
