4w Lisse Fixed LED Wall Down

The Lisse is a small down-only wall light — 115 mm wide and 76 mm high, drawing 4 W — designed for the positions where you want light on the ground and nothing shining back at you. It is the cheapest way to mark a threshold, a step or a path edge properly, and because it throws down only, a row of them reads as a rhythm of pools rather than a line of bright spots. The buying decision here is the IP rating: at IP54 it is a sheltered-position fitting, so where it goes has to be settled before anything else.

Sheltered positions only

IP54 protects against splashing water, not direct rain. The Lisse belongs under an eave, in a covered porch, under an alfresco roof or in a carport. On a fully exposed wall it will eventually take water and fail. If the position is open to the sky, choose an IP65 fitting instead — this is not a fitting to compromise on.

Specifying it

HV3641T-BLK-240V and HV3641T-WHT-240V run on 240 V AC, so they wire straight to mains and need no driver. The LED is built in — there is no globe to buy and none can be fitted. Tri-colour switching gives 240 lm at 3000K, 250 lm at 4000K and 260 lm at 5500K, which is accent-level output suited to marking a level change rather than lighting an area. Aluminium body with polyester powder coat in black or white. Carries a 3-year replacement warranty.

Getting the effect right

Down-only fittings show their spacing. Set them out at even centres from a plan rather than working along the wall by eye, and set the colour temperature on every fitting before the first one is fixed — a run with one fitting on a different step is immediately obvious at night.
