Tivah Solid Brass TRI Colour Up & Down

Tivah in solid brass is the specification chosen for how it ages rather than how it looks new. Brass is not powder-coated — it weathers, developing a patina that shifts from bright gold through warm brown toward deep antique over years of exposure. If a uniform factory finish is the requirement, this is the wrong fitting; if you want the lighting to settle into a garden or heritage facade the way copper gutters do, it is the right one. Solid brass body, matching backing plate, high-output reflector, IP65.

The choice to make: which part number

• HV1055T — 240V AC, GU10, 60° beam. Straight to mains, no driver. Takes a wattage-selectable globe for tuning output at install.
• HV1057GU10T — 240V AC, GU10, 120° beam. Same wiring, wider spread.
• HV1057MR16T — 12V DC, MR16, 120° beam. Requires a 12V DC driver; never connect it directly to 240V.

Where it works

• Heritage and period homes — brass suits masonry and timber where painted alloy looks modern.
• Established gardens — the patina reads as part of the planting rather than hardware.
• Coastal sites — brass weathers rather than blisters, though patina will develop faster.

Specifying it

Tri-colour globes at 3000K, 4000K or 5500K — warmer settings tend to suit brass, since 5500K against a golden body can look mismatched. Commit to one across the run. Expect the finish to change: fittings installed at different times will not match until the newer ones catch up, so do a facade in one go.

For the 12V model, size the driver to the whole circuit's load, keep the fitting within 25 m of the driver and the supply within ±5% — outside those limits Havit's warranty does not apply. Licensed electrician only.
