Tivah in solid brass is the specification chosen for how it ages rather than how it looks new. Brass is not powder-coated — it weathers, developing a patina that shifts from bright gold through warm brown toward deep antique over years of exposure. If a uniform factory finish is the requirement, this is the wrong fitting; if you want the lighting to settle into a garden or heritage facade the way copper gutters do, it is the right one. Solid brass body, matching backing plate, high-output reflector, IP65.
Tri-colour globes at 3000K, 4000K or 5500K — warmer settings tend to suit brass, since 5500K against a golden body can look mismatched. Commit to one across the run. Expect the finish to change: fittings installed at different times will not match until the newer ones catch up, so do a facade in one go.
For the 12V model, size the driver to the whole circuit's load, keep the fitting within 25 m of the driver and the supply within ±5% — outside those limits Havit's warranty does not apply. Licensed electrician only.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You — we can advise on brass finishes and how they weather.
No, and that is by design. Unlacquered solid brass patinates outdoors — bright gold at first, then warm brown, eventually a deep antique tone. The rate depends on exposure, with coastal and humid sites moving fastest.
Brass polish and a lacquer will bring back and hold the bright finish, but it becomes ongoing maintenance and lacquer eventually breaks down unevenly outdoors. Most people let it weather.
Only HV1057MR16T, the 12V DC model. Both GU10 models are 240V and wire straight to mains. The 12V model must never be connected directly to 240V.
Ideally yes. Because brass patinates with exposure, a fitting added a year later will look noticeably brighter than its neighbours until it catches up.
3000K generally — a warm tone complements the golden and brown range brass moves through. 5500K is cooler than the metal itself and the mismatch is usually visible.
