Shiron 6 Pendant Light Large

The Shiron 6Lt is a 700 mm fabric drum pendant — six E14 globes inside a soft shade, on a brass or dark nickel frame.

The drum does the work

Six globes inside a fabric drum behave completely differently from six on an open frame. The fabric diffuses through its sides and throws a clean disc down — so you get a broad, even, glare-free light rather than six bright points. That is why a drum is the safe choice over a table where people sit facing each other.

Wide and shallow

700 × 700 mm but only 307 mm high. Nearly three-quarters of a metre across with a shallow drop — it covers a large table without needing ceiling height, which is what makes drums work in ordinary rooms.

Brass or dark nickel, against ivory fabric

Brass warms the ivory shade and reads classic. Dark nickel is the contemporary version — the frame recedes and the shade does the talking. The frame is visible only at the top and the fixings, so the choice is subtler than it sounds.

There is a four-light too

Shiron is made as a 4-light and this 6-light. The six is the one for a large room; ask us if the four suits the table better.

Six E14 globes, not supplied

E14 small Edison screw, not E27 — check before you buy. Because they sit inside fabric and are never seen, plain warm globes are all you need; a decorative filament would be wasted. Dimming is whatever the globes will do.

Where it works

• Large dining tables, six to eight seats.
• Living rooms, as the main fitting.
• Bedrooms wanting soft, even light.
• Rooms with ordinary ceiling height.

700 × 700 mm, 307 mm high, suspension 2,000 mm, 3.95 kg, in iron and fabric, matte plated. Six E14 globes at 25 W each — 150 W total, not supplied; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
