Product Description
x30W 12V or 24V weatherproof LED driver
This is a small LED driver - the power supply that sits between mains and low-voltage lighting. At this size it is the unit behind a handful of step lights, a single garden spike, a short run of strip under a cabinet, or one fitting that arrived without a supply of its own. It takes mains power and converts it down to 12V or 24V DC.
It is rated to carry up to 30W of LED load. That figure is a ceiling, not a target - which matters more than it sounds.
Small drivers are the ones most often left out of a plan. A single fitting is easy to think of as self-contained, and the discovery that it needs a supply usually happens with the fitting already in hand.
Working out what size you need
Add up the wattage of the fittings this will power and keep the total comfortably under its rating. On a small driver that margin disappears quickly - two or three fittings can reach the limit, and a driver run at its ceiling gets hot and fails early.
It is often worth stepping up a size rather than matching exactly. The price difference between small drivers is slight, and the larger one leaves room to add a fitting later without pulling the supply out again.
⚠ This driver is made in both output voltages, and they are not interchangeable. Check which one your fittings need before ordering - the two look identical on the shelf and behave very differently on the run.
Where it can be installed
Being weatherproof and small makes this an easy unit to place - under an eave, inside a garden bed, or tucked behind the fitting it feeds. Keep it out of standing water and mount it so water runs off rather than pooling on it.

Installation
The mains side is licensed electrical work and needs an electrician, however small the unit. Size is not what decides that - the 240V connection is.
Small drivers get tucked into the first convenient gap, and that is usually the mistake. Put it where a hand can reach it, not where it happens to fit, because the day it needs replacing nobody will remember where it went.
Frequently asked questions
What does an LED driver actually do?
It converts mains down to the low-voltage DC that LED fittings run on. Even a single small fitting needs one - low-voltage lighting cannot be connected to mains directly.
How much lighting will 30W run?
Add up the wattage of the fittings you want to power - the total needs to stay under 30W, with room to spare. The wattage of each fitting is listed on its own specification.
Does the output voltage have to match my fittings?
Yes. This driver outputs 12V or 24V DC and the fittings must be rated for the same. Mixing them either leaves the lights dead or destroys them.
Can it be installed outside?
Yes - it is rated IP66 for outdoor use. Keep it clear of standing water and mount it so water drains off rather than sitting on it.
Do I need an electrician?
Yes, for the mains side. Connecting a driver to mains is licensed electrical work in Australia.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Credits will be issued in the form of store credit or gift voucher and will be equal to the price paid for the product minus the cost of shipping. Store credit vouchers are valid for six months from the date of issuance.
Our Rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
