Domus LF-G95 LED Filament Glass Globe

The Domus LF-G95 is a 7.5 W LED filament globe in the G95 spherical shape — Ø95 mm, in clear or frosted glass, E27 or B22, and 2700 K or 6500 K, giving 750–800 lumens. Dimmable.

⚠ 15,000 hours — the thing to know before you buy several

That is the shortest life in this catalogue, against 35,000 to 50,000 for most Domus LED products. It is normal for a filament LED — the filaments sit in a glass envelope with nowhere for heat to escape, and heat is what ends an LED's life.

• At three hours a day, 15,000 hours is roughly thirteen years.
• In a café or bar running twelve hours a day, it is roughly three.

⚠ If these are going into a hospitality fitout, budget for replacement and put them somewhere reachable.

G95 — a big globe, and that is the point

• Ø95 mm and 135 mm long. That is substantially larger than a standard A60 household globe, and about half again the diameter.
• ✅ In a bare-globe fitting, a batten holder, a cage or a clear pendant, the size is what makes it look deliberate rather than like a lamp somebody forgot to shade.
• ⚠ Check it fits. At 95 mm across it will not go inside a small shade, and in a close-fitting pendant it may foul the glass. Measure before you order several.

✅ It dims — and that is where these globes look best

Fully dimmable with a suitable dimmer. A filament globe at about 30% is the closest LED gets to the low warm glow of old incandescent, and on a Ø95 mm sphere the effect is particularly good.

⚠ Dimmable LED globes are fussy about dimmers. Tell us which one you have and we will confirm the pairing — flicker at the bottom of the range is the usual sign of a mismatch.

2700 K or 6500 K — and one is an odd pairing

• 2700 K warm white, 750 lm — what almost everyone wants, and what makes a filament globe look right.
• ⚠ 6500 K, 800 lm — a cold daylight white, which is an unusual thing to pair with a decorative filament. It suits a workshop, a garage or a crisp retail display; in a domestic pendant it will look wrong, because the warm visual language of a filament fights a cold colour.

E27 or B22 — check the fitting, not the old globe

E27 is the Edison screw common on modern fittings; B22 is the push-and-twist bayonet still found across older Australian homes. ⚠ They are not interchangeable.

Where it works

• Bare-globe fittings, batten holders, cages and clear pendants — where the globe is the design.
• Frosted, in anything at eye level — a glowing sphere rather than a visible filament.
• Cafés and bars — ⚠ but budget for replacement at 15,000 hours.
• ⚠ Choose 2700 K unless you have a specific reason not to.
• ⚠ Ø95 mm is large — check it fits before ordering several.
