Domus PLEX-COB-20 - 20W LED Per Metre 640LED True Dotless Striplight IP54 24V - DRIVER REQUIRED

The Domus PLEX-COB-20 is a true dotless COB LED strip drawing 20 W per metre from 24 V DC, with 640 LEDs per metre, CRI ≥90, a 180° spread and IP54. Sold per metre in 3000 K, 4000 K or 5000 K.

What “true dotless” actually changes

• 640 LEDs per metre on a COB chip — chip-on-board, where the diodes sit under a continuous phosphor layer instead of as separate packages.
• ✅ You see a line of light, not a row of dots. In a cove, a shadow-line or a handrail, an ordinary SMD strip shows scalloping on the surface opposite it. COB does not.
• ✅ It matters most where the strip is close to the surface it lights — under a kitchen cupboard onto a splashback, in a shallow shadow-line, behind a mirror. That is exactly where dots are most visible.
• ✅ Longer weldless sections mean fewer joins, and joins are where strip installations fail.

The numbers

• 1,800 lm/m at 3000 K; 2,000 lm/m at 4000 K and 5000 K. That is a bright strip — enough to be the main light in a cove, not just an accent.
• CRI ≥90. Worth having wherever the strip lights a work surface, a mirror or joinery.
• 180° spread, 50,000 hours.
• Cuttable every 25 mm, wired in parallel.

⛔ The driver, and the question we cannot answer from the sheet

20 W per metre is a lot. A five-metre run draws 100 W, which needs a driver sized above that with headroom.

• ⛔ The maximum run length from one feed is not stated in any source we hold — and on a 24 V strip at this power that is the figure that decides the layout. Run too far from one end and the far end is visibly dimmer. Tell us the length and we will size the driver and tell you where it needs feeding from.
• ✅ 24 V rather than 12 V is already the better starting point — half the current for the same power means less voltage drop and longer possible runs.
• ⚠ Dimming is done by the driver, not the strip. The datasheet's note reads “fully dimmable with suitable LED driver”. Buying a dimmer without the right driver achieves nothing.
• ⚠ Our record lists 24 V as this strip's output voltage. It is the input. The output-voltage field belongs on the driver.

Choosing the colour — and it is chosen once

⛔ This strip does not switch colour. There is a separate part number for each colour temperature, and our record's colour-changing flag is wrong. Cut and installed, it is the colour you ordered.

• 3000 K — coves, bedheads, living areas, under-cabinet in a warm kitchen.
• 4000 K — bathrooms, laundries, task surfaces. Also the brightest.
• 5000 K — workshops and garages.

• ✅ Bathrooms, laundries, shower niches and splashbacks — indoor wet areas.
• ✅ Under-cabinet and mirror lighting — CRI ≥90.
• ⛔ Not outdoors, soffits or pergolas — ask us for the IP67 version.
• ⛔ Not without a 24 V DC constant-voltage driver.
• ⚠ Ask us for the maximum run before you set the feed points.
