A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Domus PLEX-COB-20 is a true dotless COB LED strip drawing 20 W per metre from 24 V DC, with 640 LEDs per metre, CRI ≥90, a 180° spread and IP54. Sold per metre in 3000 K, 4000 K or 5000 K.
⚠ IP54 here means indoor wet areas — not outdoors. The datasheet's own footnote reads “Indoor Use Only — suitable for indoor wet areas”, and that qualifier is missing from the bare IP54 on our record.
So: a bathroom, a laundry, a shower niche, a kitchen splashback — yes. A soffit, a pergola or anywhere it can be rained on — no. ⛔ For those, Domus makes an IP67 silicone-coated version of the same strip. Tell us where it is going and we will make sure you get the right one, because the two look identical on a reel.
⛔ It needs a 24 V DC constant-voltage LED driver, which is not included.
20 W per metre is a lot. A five-metre run draws 100 W, which needs a driver sized above that with headroom.
⛔ This strip does not switch colour. There is a separate part number for each colour temperature, and our record's colour-changing flag is wrong. Cut and installed, it is the colour you ordered.
COB true-dotless LED strip, 640 LEDs per metre, 20 W per metre, 24 V DC. Sold per metre. Output 1,800 lm/m (3000 K), 2,000 lm/m (4000 K and 5000 K). ⛔ Colour temperature is fixed per part number — it does not switch. CRI ≥90, 180° spread, 50,000 hrs. Cuttable every 25 mm, wired in parallel. ⛔ Requires a 24 V DC constant-voltage LED driver — not included; dimming is done by the driver. IP54 — indoor use only, suitable for indoor wet areas. An IP67 version exists for exposed positions. ⚠ Maximum run length from one feed is not published — ask us before setting the layout. Warranty 3 years.

No. IP54 sounds like it might cover a soffit, but the datasheet's own footnote reads "indoor use only — suitable for indoor wet areas", and that qualifier is missing from the bare IP54 on our record. Bathrooms, laundries, shower niches and splashbacks are fine. Soffits, pergolas and anything rained on are not — Domus makes an IP67 silicone-coated version of the same strip for those, and the two look identical on a reel, so tell us where it is going.
The 640 LEDs per metre sit on a COB chip under a continuous phosphor layer rather than as separate packages, so you see a line of light instead of a row of dots. It matters most where the strip is close to the surface it lights — under a kitchen cupboard onto a splashback, in a shallow shadow-line, behind a mirror — which is exactly where an ordinary SMD strip shows scalloping.
Not published in any source we hold, and at 20 W per metre that is the figure that decides your layout — a five-metre run alone draws 100 W. Run too far from one feed and the far end is visibly dimmer. Tell us the length and we will size the driver and tell you where it needs feeding from. Running at 24 V rather than 12 V already helps: half the current for the same power means less voltage drop.
No. It needs a 24 V DC constant-voltage LED driver, bought separately and sized above the total load with headroom. Ask us and we will size it against your actual run length rather than a reel length.
Yes, but the dimming happens in the driver, not in the strip. The datasheet says "fully dimmable with suitable LED driver" — so buying a dimmer without the right driver achieves nothing. Tell us how you want to control it and we will specify the driver to match.
No, and our record is wrong about this. There is a separate part number for 3000 K, 4000 K and 5000 K, and once it is cut and installed it is the colour you ordered. Choose before you order — 3000 K for coves and living areas, 4000 K for bathrooms and task surfaces, 5000 K for workshops.
Every 25 mm, and it is wired in parallel so the cut sections still work as long as they are fed correctly. Fewer joins is better — the strip has longer weldless sections than most, and joins are where strip installations usually fail.
