The Domus PLEX-COB-10 is a true dotless COB LED strip drawing 10 W per metre from 24 V DC, with 640 LEDs per metre, CRI ≥90, a 180° spread and IP54. Sold per metre in 3000 K, 4000 K or 5000 K.

⛔ It runs on 24 V DC and needs a driver. Our product record says 240 V, and that is simply wrong.

This is an extra-low-voltage product. It requires a 24 V DC constant-voltage LED driver, which is not included, and it must never be connected to mains. We are flagging the record because a 240 V entry on a 24 V strip is the kind of error that reaches a wiring decision.

⚠ IP54 here means indoor wet areas — not outdoors. The datasheet's footnote reads “Indoor Use Only — suitable for indoor wet areas”, and that qualifier is missing from the bare IP54 on our record. Bathroom, laundry, shower niche, splashback: yes. Soffit, pergola, anywhere rained on: no — Domus makes an IP67 silicone-coated version for those, and the two look identical on a reel.

  • ✅ 10 W/m is the accent and detail choice — shadow-lines, handrails, plinths, stair nosings, joinery reveals, and coves where the strip is close to the surface it lights.
  • Step up to 15 W/m for under-cabinet and mirror lighting where the strip is doing real work, and to 20 W/m where it is the main light in a large cove.
  • ✅ The lower load is a genuine advantage: longer runs from one feed, a smaller driver, and less heat in a sealed channel.
  • ⚠ Its 3000 K and 4000 K outputs are identical at 900 lm/m, where every other strip in this family gains output at 4000 K. Choose the colour for the room, not for brightness.
What “true dotless” changes
  • 640 LEDs per metre on a COB chip — chip-on-board, with the diodes under a continuous phosphor layer rather than as separate packages.
  • ✅ A line of light, not a row of dots. In a shadow-line or a handrail, an ordinary SMD strip shows scalloping on the surface opposite it; COB does not.
  • ✅ It matters most at low output and close range — which is exactly where a 10 W/m strip lives. A dim strip with visible dots looks cheap; a dim dotless one looks architectural.
  • ✅ Longer weldless sections mean fewer joins, and joins are where strip installations fail.
The driver, and the figure nobody publishes
  • ⛔ The maximum run length from one feed is not stated in any source we hold. At 10 W/m the strip is far more forgiving than the 20 W version, but the limit still exists. Tell us the run length and we will size the driver and set the feed points.
  • ✅ 24 V rather than 12 V halves the current for the same power, so less voltage drop and longer possible runs.
  • ⚠ Dimming is done by the driver, not the strip. The datasheet says “fully dimmable with suitable LED driver”. A dimmer without the right driver achieves nothing.
  • Cuttable every 25 mm, wired in parallel.
Colour is chosen once

⛔ This strip does not switch colour. There is a separate part number per colour temperature, and our record's colour-changing flag is wrong. Cut and installed, it is the colour you ordered.

Questions
Does it run on 240 V or 24 V?

24 V DC, and it needs a constant-voltage LED driver that is not included. Our product record carries a 240 V entry and that is simply wrong — we are flagging it here because a mains figure on an extra-low-voltage strip is the kind of error that reaches a wiring decision. It must never be connected to mains.

Should I use 10, 15 or 20 W per metre?

Why are the 3000 K and 4000 K outputs the same?

They are both 900 lumens per metre, where every other strip in this family gains output at 4000 K. We do not know why and the datasheet does not say. The practical consequence is simple: on this wattage, choose the colour temperature for the room rather than for brightness, because you gain nothing by going neutral.

Is 900 lumens per metre enough?

For accent and detail work, comfortably. A shadow-line, a handrail or a plinth wants a visible line of light rather than a bright one, and 900 lumens per metre reads well without becoming the thing you look at. For under-cabinet lighting onto a work surface, step up to 15 W/m.

How long a run can I do from one driver?

Not published in any source we hold, though at 10 W per metre this strip is far more forgiving than the 20 W version. Tell us the run length and we will size the driver and set the feed points. Running at 24 V rather than 12 V already helps — half the current for the same power means less voltage drop.

Can I dim it?

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
