Find the right globe for this fitting
Product Description
xThe Halvik TL is a 500 mm table lamp with a tiered dome shade in iron with gold accents — one E27 globe to 25 W — with a TRIAC dim switch built into the base, in beige or green.
The dimmer is in the lamp, and that is unusual. Most table lamps here are “globe dependent” — they dim only if you fit a dimmable globe and add a plug-in or inline dimmer. The Halvik has a TRIAC dim switch built into its own base: you turn it on the lamp, with no extra hardware and nothing to buy. You still need a dimmable globe for it to work, but the control is already there. Our page was cut off mid-sentence before it explained this.
⚠ Assume the globe is NOT included. Our datasheet says included; the page’s own specification table says not included. We publish not included because that is the safer answer to plan around — buy a dimmable E27 to 25 W. If one arrives in the box, so much the better. Ask us and we will confirm with Telbix if it matters to your order.
A tiered dome on a tapered base — and it is all iron
Both the shade and the base are iron, which is unusual: most table lamps here put fabric, glass or stone somewhere. An all-metal lamp passes no light through the shade at all, so everything goes down and out of the opening — a defined pool rather than a glow, with the tiers catching light on their edges as it escapes. At 380 mm wide the pool is generous.
3.02 kilograms on a 150 mm base
Solid for its size, and it needs to be: a 380 mm iron shade on a 150 mm base would be top-heavy without the weight. It stays where you put it, which matters on a lamp whose switch you reach for.
Green or beige, both with gold
Green is the uncommon one — a coloured metal lamp is rare in this catalogue, and on a tiered dome the colour reads as a series of curved bands rather than a mass. Beige is the quiet choice and sits against almost any wall. Both carry subtle gold accents, in a gloss finish.
You almost certainly do not need an electrician. It is Class II — double insulated — on an 1,800 mm cable. The old page carried an electrician requirement that belongs to hard-wired fittings.
Where it works
- Bedsides and desks — the dim switch is on the lamp, where your hand goes.
- Sideboards and consoles, where a 380 mm shade has room.
- ⚠ Buy a DIMMABLE globe, or the built-in dimmer has nothing to work with.
- ⚠ Indoor and dry locations only — IP20.
Specifying it
500 mm tall by 380 mm wide, base 150 mm, cable 1,800 mm, 3.02 kg, in gloss iron with gold accents. One E27 globe to 25 W, treat as NOT supplied — the sources disagree. TRIAC dim switch built into the base — fit a dimmable globe. 240 V, Class II — double insulated, no earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Questions
How do I dim it?
From a switch built into the lamp’s own base — no plug-in dimmer, no inline switch, nothing extra to buy. That is unusual here: most table lamps in this range dim only if you add a dimmer yourself. You do still need a dimmable globe for it to work.
Is a globe included?
Assume not. Our datasheet says included and the page’s own specification table says not included — we publish not included because it is the safer answer to plan around. Buy a dimmable E27 to 25 W; if one arrives in the box, so much the better.
What sort of light does it give?
A defined pool rather than a glow. Both the shade and base are iron, so no light passes through the shade — it all goes down and out of the opening, with the tiers catching light on their edges as it escapes.
Do I need an electrician?
It is double insulated with an 1,800 mm cable, so almost certainly not. The old page carried an electrician requirement that belongs to hard-wired fittings.
Green or beige?
Green is the uncommon one — a coloured metal lamp is rare here, and on a tiered dome the colour reads as a series of curved bands rather than a mass. Beige is the quiet choice and sits against almost any wall. Both have gold accents.
Is it stable?
Yes — 3.02 kg on a 150 mm base. A 380 mm iron shade would be top-heavy without it, and the weight matters on a lamp whose switch you reach for.
What globe should I buy?
A dimmable E27 to 25 W. A non-dimmable globe will work, but the built-in dimmer will have nothing to act on.
