Mini Reces Square LED Step Light

Mini Reces is the smallest recessed step light in this family — a 55 × 55 mm square, 27 mm deep, with a 1 W LED behind it. It exists for the job where a full-size step light is too much light and too much fitting: a low retaining wall, the riser of a single step, a threshold. Five finishes are offered — antique brass, brass, 316 stainless steel, black and white — and the choice is worth making on the basis of where it sits, because the fitting is small enough that the finish is most of what you see.

The decision that matters: this is a 12 V fitting

Every SKU on this listing is 12 V. Mini Reces requires a 12 V DC LED driver and must never be connected directly to 240 V, which destroys it instantly and is not covered. Keep each fitting within 25 m of its driver — that is a warranty limit, not a guideline — and size the driver for the whole circuit's load. At 1 W each, a great many of these fit on one modest driver, which is exactly why they suit long runs.

Specifying it

Tri-colour selectable at install across 3000K, 4000K and 5500K — pick one for the whole run so a wall does not mix temperatures. Output is in the 40–50 lm range, which is deliberate: this is a marker, not a wall washer. Triac dimmable, so it can be pulled back on a dimmed low-voltage circuit. It can be installed with or without a canister, and the cut-out differs between the two, so decide which before the wall is set out; a 300 mm tail is supplied for the connection. The LED is built in: no globe is needed and none can be fitted. IP67 with an IK10 impact rating makes it the version to choose where fittings sit at ankle height in a trafficked area.
