The Prime RGBCW is the full-colour member of the range: the same 90 mm recessed body as its tuneable-white sibling, but with red, green and blue emitters alongside the white ones, all under app control. It is the fitting for a room that wants ordinary usable light most of the time and colour on demand — a media room, a bar, a child’s bedroom, a deck ceiling.
The letters are the channels: red, green, blue, cool white and warm white. In white mode it produces 300 lm at 3000K and 320 lm at 5500K. In colour mode the individual channels are much dimmer by nature — Havit publishes red at 15 lm, green at 32 lm and blue at 25 lm — which is normal for colour LEDs and is exactly why this is a mood and accent fitting rather than a general-lighting one. Plan it as a second layer, not as the room’s only downlight: on a ceiling where the Prime CCT would light a kitchen properly, the same number of RGBCW fittings will not.
Where it does hold up is colour fidelity: CRI >90, SDCM <4 and UGR <22, the same figures as the tuneable-white model. So the white light is properly rendered and consistent between fittings — the difference is quantity, not quality.
Everything happens in the TUYA app over Wi-Fi: on and off, brightness, colour wheel, preset and custom scenes, grouping several fittings together, timers and a music mode that drives the colour from audio. The app also groups fittings by room, which is the practical way to run a set of these as one.
It needs a Ø90 mm cutout, has a Ø105 mm face and sits 70 mm deep, with the head tilting 20° inside the housing. The diffuser is frosted perspex rather than the clear glass used on the tuneable-white model, which suits colour mixing — it blends the separate emitters instead of showing them as coloured points.
It is IC-4 rated so the fitting may be covered by insulation, but the driver must sit above any insulation. The driver is supplied with flex and plug fitted. Supply is 240 V AC mains, Protection Class 2 with no earth required at the fitting, and IP54 applies to the front of the fitting only. Rated life is <50,000 hours and the warranty is 3 years replacement.
Lights For You stocks this beside the tuneable-white Prime in the same body, so a ceiling can mix the two — white fittings doing the work, colour fittings doing the mood — with no visible difference from below.
Usually not. In white mode it gives 300 lm at 3000K and 320 lm at 5500K, which is well below a general-purpose downlight. Treat it as an accent and mood layer, and use the tuneable-white Prime in the same body for the room’s working light.
Havit publishes red at 15 lm, green at 32 lm and blue at 25 lm. Single-colour output is much lower than white output on any RGB fitting — that is a property of colour LEDs, not a fault in this one.
Red, green, blue, cool white and warm white — the five channels in the fitting. The white channels give usable room light and tune between 3000K and 5500K; the colour channels are mixed in the app for effect.
Ø90 mm, with a Ø105 mm visible face and 70 mm of depth behind the ceiling. Other Prime models use 70 mm and 76 mm cutouts, so check the existing hole before ordering a replacement.
Through the TUYA app over Wi-Fi — power, brightness, colour wheel, preset and custom scenes, grouping, timers and a music mode. There is no wall control or physical setting on the fitting itself.
The fitting is IC-4 rated and may be covered. The driver must not be, and must sit above any insulation covering the fixture. Loose-fill insulation such as macerated paper or wool is excluded entirely.
Three years replacement, per Havit’s current model data sheet for this product.
