Ridge LED Step Light CCT 6w

Ridge is the high-output step light in this group — 480 lm at 3000K, 500 lm at 4000K and 520 lm at 5500K from 6 W, out of a compact 114 × 63 × 62 mm body. That is several times the output of a typical marker step light, so Ridge is specified where the fitting has to actually light the ground: a wide flight, a driveway edge, a commercial walkway that needs to be seen, not just found.

The choice to make: five finishes, and two of them are solid metal

Black, white and graphite are powder-coated; solid bronze and 316 stainless steel are the material itself. Where the wall is within reach of salt spray, or the fitting will be handled and knocked, the solid-metal options outlast a coating because there is no coating to breach. Inland and under cover, the powder-coated finishes give the same light at the same price point and let you match the wall or the joinery. The white version reads marginally different at the warm end — around 460 lm at 3000K against 480 lm for the others.

Specifying it

Supplied with a 150 mm cable tail, so plan the junction or connector position close behind the fitting. Rated IP54 — splashing and driven damp are within rating, but a position taking direct heavy rain or standing water needs a higher rating. Tri-colour selectable at install with a 120° spread; set every fitting on the run to one temperature.

Ridge is 12 V DC and requires a 12 V DC LED driver. It must never be connected directly to 240 V. Each fitting must sit within 25 m of its driver, and at 6 W each the driver needs sizing carefully for the number of fittings. The LED is built in — no globe needed or possible. Not dimmable. Installation by a licensed electrician.
