HV3113T-BLK-240V | HV3113T-BLK-12V - Black Rectangular Recessed LED Step Light

The HV3113T rectangular recessed step light in black is the largest of Havit's flush wall lights in this group at 5 W, and the black body is the reason to pick it over the white: recessed into a dark wall or a timber-clad stairwell it reads as a slot of light with no visible fitting. It is supplied with clips for plasterboard installation. This listing carries the fitting in two voltages, which is the first thing to decide.

The choice to make: 240 V or 12 V

• HV3113T-BLK-240V — wires straight to mains, no driver or transformer. Class I on 240 V, so an earth is required at the fitting.
• HV3113T-BLK-12V — requires a 12 V DC LED driver and must never be connected directly to 240 V.

Both give the same light: 120 lm at 3000K, 130 lm at 4000K and 125 lm at 5500K, tri-colour selectable at install. Decide on how the circuit is being run, not on output.

Specifying it

Recessed without a canister, so set the cut-outs out against the studs before cutting — there is no adjustment afterwards. At 5 W this is the brightest of the family, so on a short flight you may want fewer fittings than you first sketched. On the 12 V version keep each fitting within 25 m of its driver, past which the warranty does not apply. The LED is built in — no globe is needed, none can be fitted. Powder-coated black aluminium, IP54, which means splashing water rather than sustained rain. Licensed electrician only.
